How long have you been lifting? I am definitely bro status, and take a lot of different things... Only supplement that I can really stand behind for me is Fish Oil. If you took everything else away I would fight for that.

What are the benefits you see from fish oil?

For me it has helped immensely when it comes to joint health. I am a tall, lanky bastard and have had both a shoulder and a knee blow out. If I come off of fish oil for just 4-5 days everything starts to tighten up and I get pain in my joints. I can pick up and drop lots of other supps without any real side effects (multi,glucosamine,chondroitin,D3,etc...). Could all be broscience, but that's my story and I am sticking to it.

Nitrous oxide? Aka "hippy crack".. that might be a million dollar idea:thumbsup:
Spray the whip cream and eat it to get the sugar then hit the bottle upright to get the nitrous and laugh through the work out:cookiemonster::militarypress:

I'd probably take nothing outside of a multi then. Listen to your body and start to clean up your diet and that will help you turn the corner more than anything. Me adding in the joint stuff was an attempt to stave off some pains. I figure don't take it if you don't need it.

I started with some C4 almost a month ago. I take 1 scoop 30 mins before working out, then go home and eat what my wife cooks with a 2 scoop protein shake. Then before bed another shake.been working for me. I usually have coffee every morning, then a package of belvita with an activia yogurt, bottle water, and some breakfast, eggs potato and cheese.

I'm not counting macros yet, but have been watching what I'm eating. Ditched the soda and beer. Only water and protein shakes, which I'm loving right now. Got me the muscle tech stuff along with a blender bottle that's right next to it. That bottle is The best thing that I've used. Has a little whisk ball inside and then you shake and mixes pretty good for the Most part. We all start somewhere.

I've been hitting it hard for the last few months and have started to see mahsuls. These guys have good tips here. More experience than me.

What is a good brand you like/recommended mg per? I am interested now to see if this will help the tightness in my knee...

It brings blood closer to the surface of the skin, which makes you itch like hell. It's kinda fun, but it also kinda sucks lol. Sometimes, if you take too much, it's like you're covered in ants.

I'm being responsible! I'm on week 2 and have only gained like 1.5 lbs. Still at only like a 350 calorie surplus right now. Bumping it up to 600 next week

You don't need any supplements if your diet is good. Most people supplement protein simply because chugging 50 g of protein is easier than eating 50 g of protein. Most everything else is snake oil, IMO.

A couple whey protein shakes are really the only thing I've thought about adding. I def don't get the protein I should throughout the day. Other than that I am just taking fish oil and a multi.

I don't want to take the excess protein if I don't need it though. I want to figure out how many 26ish grams of protein shakes I should take daily.

I aim for at least 1g of protein per lb bodyweight.

Most people go by the old adage of 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, but more and more people are starting to do less, like 1 gram per pound of lean body mass. I like to play it safe and go with the former...also, my favorite foods are protein-rich, so I'd rather eat high protein foods over high carb or high fat foods anyway...on a bulk, I eat around 250 g protein per day :D

If all your protein intake is coming from shakes you need to reevaluate what you're eating.

I drink two shakes a day one in the morning and one post workout. 90% of my protein comes from real food. Chicken, beef, fish, eggs, etc. and I take in 250g daily

As far as supplements to take like Zach said. Nothing is really required even protein shakes aren't. I like them because they are convenient. As far as my stack goes. I take fish oil for joint health. A multi because I am still cutting and my diet doesn't get me all the nutrients I need, pre workout because why not and bcaa (90% because I got marketed so yeah probably don't need it) but that's about it.

Truuu. I get about 3/4 of my protein from real food. I feel the same way about micronutrients, as well. Why take a multi-vitamin when you can get vitamins and minerals from real food...then you know you're not paying for a bullshit pill that just changes the color of your piss.

The only reason I feel it's appropriate for people to supplement fish oil (which I don't take) is because it's kind of expensive to eat salmon everyday and it stinks to high hell if you've got to heat it up at work or something.
