New radiator and hoses coming for me. Ordered today from RockAuto. Also picked up a new/reman cs-144 alternator today from Advance Auto.

Use the old one as a core? Did you look at getting it repaired/upgraded?

Should find the tiniest of shims to place in it too

Ha. Why the hell would you get a tundra? You don't use a truck enough to justify a fullsize.

So the correct shim will be disc shaped like a washer, right? And the center hole will have to be the diameter of that mounting bolt, right? Where would you go to find such a shim?

I'm pretty sure most washers in that size will be too thick.

Could grind a washer down. Or make a new bushing. Ace has all those. All I used just cut to fit.

Dude. Your just gonna have to cope with no dogs on big trips. Or sell the truck. And get a 2nd gen tacoma.

The trailer isn't a great idea for the pets. I feel bad enough about when I hauled my dogs in the back of Frank on some of the trails. Rough ride for them.

If you sold the subie you'd be bitching and moaning the next day and every day for the rest of your life about missing a fun quick car to drive.

You've out grown the tacoma. Face the truth. Or embrace it and leave the dogs.

 

I run 255/80/17 and I daily
My truck. Mileage didn't change at all and I had 265s before. Love the St maxx it's super quiet. Also I have bamf bolt on sliders and drilling 6 holes in the frame took 2 hrs with a corded drill. You just need a harbor freight step up bit and it made quick work. Ben you may of had a bubble in ur system or something? Happened on a Isuzu trooper my buddy had once then he burped it and it cleared.

My temps go from 198° going 80 in 90°f to 205° in 97°f. It's possible.

3rd gen or 2nd? I have still been slowly shopping but Im waiting until the right deal pops up. Almost pulled the trigger on a slightly hail damaged 2016 chevy 1500. LTZ, z71 was as nice as they get and only 37k...but the 5.32 in them feels gutless.

Honesly I would say if you want a Tundra, get the Tundra. I thought about just swapping into a 2nd or even 3rd gen Tacoma, but the size of the Tundra sways me. Plus for the mileage we all seem to get in the tacomas might as well have a big v8 to justify it.

 

1st? Like the smaller size with the 4.7? I have looked at a few diesels, and honesly I would really like a new one. But I just don't pull anything to justify it. I would just like it for long distance travesl for the mileage I could possibly get.
