Krown rustproofing-had the Tacoma done today

I've been on the fence about getting my Tacoma rustproofed since buying it last March but with winter coming and the ungodly amount of salt they put down here every winter, I decided to have my Tacoma treated with the Krown rust treatment by Krown of St. Louis.
I thought I would have to travel further north to find a dealer but there turned out to be a Krown treatment center right here in St. Louis on Wise Street.
The night before my appointment, I pulled the spare tire, front skid plate, side tube steps and removed the numerous rocker panel/door rubber plugs to give the tech better access.
I was able to watch the tech and was very impressed with the amount of coverage applied both on the outside AND inside of the frame/cross members. Any metal underneath was treated and literally dripping. He was able to get the treatment inside the doors, tailgate, hood substructure, front fenders, engine bay, bed quarter panels, f/r bumpers, hitch and inside the rockers using various wands and spray guns.
The tech was very professional and took care when applying the treatment. I can recommend them. They are currently building a dedicated rustproofing facility which should be up and running in about a month.
With what I got tied up in the truck, past Tacoma frame rust issues and the amount of winter salt that is put down, hopefully I can lengthen the life of this truck. Here's some pics:

They have various vehicle pricing but on my DC, out the door was 140.00 including a touch up spray can of rustproofing. Well worth it, IMHO.

How long that coating would last?

 

So do they just undercoat it really good or what chemical are they using in this process

 

They recommend a touch up every year which is 25.00 I believe.

That's great! I need to look for avendor... There is no salt on the roads here, but I like to hangout at the coast.

No that's just a film/oil. The rubberized stuff dries

Here's a Krown rust proofing question: So, if you DO get it done, do you go right to the car wash like they suggest so you can get whatever they got on the outside of the truck off? And, does it negate your trucks warranty or anything? I mean, is your trucks' warranty still valid if you get the Krown treatment? Thanks.

 

Don't go to the carwash. Handwash the top painted portion of the truck. The truck is going to drip for at least a week and then wash it again.

 

I just had mine Krown'd this past Saturday for $140 and was told each time I came to have it done it would cost the same and they would apply it everywhere again to keep the warranty going. Not just a touch up but shops could operate differently.

 

I'm pretty sure my place told me that it could be "touched up" each year when I originally had it done 2 years ago.
When I inquired about it this year, I was told it would be full price and it would be a complete treatment.
Perhaps their policy had changed, I don't know.
That being the deal, I'll go back at a longer interval.
The underside still looks great, no rust but where I live, you have to have a winter beater. They shovel the salt around here.
Being I have a beater, I can go at a longer interval. If I didn't, I would have it treated each year, the salt is that bad around here.
They will wash the vehicle after applying but I declined and washed it at home after letting it sit a couple of days to drip off in my gravel driveway.

 

Where did you have it done? I paid $150 in Solvay to have it done and they told me the same about coming back yearly.

 

My mistake, I just checked my credit card statement and it was $150 and will be $150 each year I go. Glad to see another CNY tacoma person, PM me if you want to meet up sometime.
