Purchased from Family Toyota. Sales guy was Josh, really good dude. Not sure I would recommend bringing in outside financing, but after my talk with Josh yesterday, I think they removed the problem from their dealership all together. However, I am still trying to fix what the finance guy screwed up, so I am a bit frustrated. With that said, I would 100% recommend him and the dealership.

Care to share how the financed guy screwed up, so we all know what other things to look for?

The dealership is a preferred dealership with my credit union so they have the ability to do direct financing through them (where the dealership would get a kick back), the finance guy pushed me to let them handle it. However, I work with a single financial services rep at my CU who had already done my approval and simply needed the buyers order to finalize everything. Apparently, he decided to set it up directly anyways instead of faxing the buyer order like I told him (he was told multiple times I would be handling financing). The issue is, no financing paperwork was signed yet my CU thinks I finalized financing at the dealership.

Again, this issue was resolved internally with the dealership but I am still trying to get my financing finalized so a little bit of a pain. Again I would 100% recommend Josh and the dealership, he was great to deal with.

Hate quoting myself, but quick update:

Josh took care of everything himself and got all the paperwork to the right person at my credit union. My Financial Services Rep emailed me and said she got everything she needed yesterday from Josh. Can't say enough about how hard that guy worked for me on this car deal, best car salesmen I have ever dealt with (and my family owns a few large dealerships).

Anyone care to share the base invoice/MSRP price for a 2017 TRD Off Road DCLB 4x4 Automatic before any options/packages/accessories?

If a customer ordered the vehicle would the dealer be a little more forgiving on the sale price or they don't give a F***?

The dealer I am working with seems to be pretty cool about dealing on my special order. I ordered a DCLB TRDOR in Quickdsand. I'm sure they could sell it and make more money off of someone else but they have been a real pleasure to work with and pretty excited to see the truck when it comes in.

The answer to that is a big NO. It comes down to how educated the buyer is on buying autos. Hell I have seen people come to a dealership look at the MSRP and buy it at that price. I ordered my 2017 without putting down a down payment and I never told the dealer I plan on doing a trade in. They gave me 3800 off MSRP Could I have done a little better maybe but I knew I had a trade in and that is where I held the cards.

Well the truck came in just the way I ordered it and I told them I wanted to do a trade in. They tried to stiff me with their first offer and I just told them I don't know if we can make this deal I told them I needed to think about. Three minutes later the head sales guy comes to me and says we really want your business let's see if we can give you more for your truck. After about 15 minutes they came back and offered me 1,800.00 more for my truck. Could I have continue to play hard ball of course but at that point I figured I got 3800.00 off MSRP and a additional 1,800.00 for my 06 with 240,000 miles on it. So in the end I paid about 33,000 for my loaded 4x4 dbl cab LB OR out the door

Bottom line here is have a strategy before you go to the dealership and be willing to walk if necessary. Everybody got want they wanted. The dealer still made a little money and I got the truck I wanted.

Wow, here is the pro negotiator :)
it takes skill to get this deal, I guess.

We just ordered 4 tacomas (two 4x4 SR5 DCLB: $32,940 and two 4x4 SR5 DCSB: $32,451). That's before tax and lic. We're happy with that price.

2017 Tacoma Silver DCSB TRD Off Road 4x4 Auto - Base Price $34,705, P&T JBL $3035, Tow package $650, AW floor mats $209, Bed mat $120, D-Rings $55, Exhaust Tip $90, Mudguards $129, Spare Tire Lock $75, Wheel Locks $80, Delivery $940 = $40,088 - $250 Internet discount for final price of $39,838 w/o tax/licensing. Not much haggling on the price since the 3rd Gen Tacoma's were flying off the dealership lot. My truck was purchased off the trailer (6 miles on odometer). I did get a decent trade in for my 2004 GMC HD 2500 truck though. Also, my wife bought a 2016 Prius II from the same dealership three days later and they knocked $4k off the base price because those weren't moving very fast.
