Hm, who knows. I'm kinda holding out for Black Friday sales too. This month's purchase will be SOS sliders I do believe.

Amounts to free shipping. If I had that 20% discount of free shipping I would have gone with one size bigger.

True. I just can't currently budget for a ~1500$ purchase this month so I guess RTT will have to wait. Question though...does anybody know if CVT tents work on Prinsu's? On the CVT website Prinsu is not listed as a compatible roof rack.

All the RTT are almost exactly the same, made in the same factories over in china with almost no alterations aside from the "ruggedize" models. You can mount a CVT to a Prinsu rack.

What I would be worried about is if the Prinsu rack was strong enough for a RTT. I've read the install manual and I just wouldn't trust it.

Why would you think that? It seems to mount similar to others...it will be on my shell rack, not the cab.

Oh I haven't looked at the shell rack install so I don't know about that. I just wouldn't put one on the cab roof rack using only whose crush-nuts for anchors.

I don't want to put any additional weight towards the front, I'd rather it be on the back. I've seen Prinsu's with the RTT's on them just wasn't sure if they were CVT's or not.

Also, another question for anyone....because I'm not what you would call an "experienced camper" for more than just a night or two. For a full week, what sort of arrangements do you make for food/beverage and cooking/storage type things? I usually make it on simple bagged snacks and dry goods with a case of water when we have done anything in the past, but it's never been a week..

I would recommend getting a 12v powered fridge. Counting on a cooler full of ice to keep things cold for a week is unreasonable unless you're planning to make daily ice runs.

Normally when I go out for any period longer than 3 days, I don't pack perishable items. Canned foods and dry goods that don't need to be kept cold are the easiest to manage. I'll keep a cooler (Coleman extreme 5- which will keep ice for 4-5 days) to keep my beer and Dr. Peppers cold. If I'm taking any perishables I'll keep them in the cooler and eat them during the first 2 days. Any longer and I would use a 12v fridge. Just my personal preference because food poisoning in a remote part of the country sucks.

Regarding the Coleman extreme 5 cooler, I've been able to keep ice for 8 days in it when the outside temps were mild, but any warmer than 85 and 4-5 days at best.

Oh, and the totinos party pizzas are the bomb cooked over an open fire. Those thing will keep in a cooler pretty well as long as it's cold.

So you don't really take anything that requires any sort of "cooking" other than heating on a fire? You don't take any sort of cooking "equipment" for lack of a better word?

I have a propane camp stove. I'll get powdered eggs that can be mixed with water and scrambled, mostly I use it to cook my canned foods.

Ok good to know. I believe I have a propane camp stove that I got from my dad, I'll have to locate it.
