I do most of my camping in the form of back packing but "car camping" makes things to much easier.

The main idea is to come up with a menu for the entire trip then bring everything you need to cook that menu.

I get by with a lot of nonperishable foods. I won't be cooking breakfast or lunches and only cooking dinners. I'm only planning on budgeting for one out to eat meal the entire trip.

This is what my "kitchen" box has in it so far.

    2 burner propane stove
    4 person plastic plate set
    cheap silverware from wal-mart
4qt old pot found at goodwill
    10" cast iron pan
    skillet for 2 burner stove
folding grill for over camp fire
    collapsible wash tub for dishes
    dish soap
    sponge
    towels
    papwertowls
    trashbags (that fit in trash-a-roo)
    Misc spices that don't expire

Then I will have a separate smaller "food" box that will contain all my non-perishable food for the trip.

    Examples will be like

    Bread
    Snackbars
    fruits
    vegetables (for cooking with)
    chips
    Ramen noodles
    cans of soup or pasta
    etc...

Then I will have my yeti-45 that will contain all my perishable foods like:

    a few steaks
    hotdogs
    burger
    sandwich meat
    eggs
    bacon
    mayo
    few pre-made dishes in Tupperware

I will then have a 2nd cooler just for beer haha.

And one box for tools and misc camping gear.

All my clothes will be kept inside the truck in a backpack or other bag.

Don't forget that we can re-fit food wise once there also.

@stronghammer, CVT offers TW members 10% off always. Also when I get to go camping, I have 1/2 gallon milk jugs in the freezer for use in my cooler. Works better than ice and little to no water mess. My mom used dry ice for our family trips Idaho and trips out the Mojave desert.

@stronghammer, just read on the "closed cvt group buy thread", CVT offered a guy 20% off today. Also I might have a lead on a Mt Shasta earth tone green with stargazzer.

I think I'm going to hold off on RTT for now, skids and roof racks are the next planned purchases currently. @LadyRed and @TacoAlaMode if they don't have a GB or like a black friday sale or something....we can maybe order all together and get a discount on shipping like previously stated. Never hurts to try and the owner of Prinsu is pretty active on here.

Yea I think if I didn't already one a RTT would be last on my list for MOAB. If it turns out you can't get one a ground tent works just as well, just not as convenient.

I think that's what I'm leaning towards, since I own a ground tent haha

I'm weighing my options on the RTT or sticking with my Insta-tent ground tent. I live in a condo community and the HOA flipped their shit when I lifted my last truck. I had to get a waiver from them. I can only imagine what they'd do if I kept a bed rack and RTT on year round. Which leads me to my next issue, storing the RTT when I'm not using it.

Yeah, storage might be an issue for me as well. No HOA to worry about, but also no space for a big RTT to chill somewhere haha, but an RTT allows me to have my entire shell available for other stuff. I know a ground tent doesn't take up much storage space, but I'd like to eliminate as much "stuff" in my bed/shell as I can.

I store my RTT leaned up against a wall in my spare bedroom. It only weights about 150lbs and I can get it up and down off the rack by myself. But I also have the smallest RTT CVT makes.
