Does anybody know the proper documentation needed to take a financed vehicle out of country? Called Toyota financial who I financed the vehicle through and I keep getting the run around from them with no specific answers

Your pcs office should have all the info needed. Talk to your supervisor or commander and they will get you in the right direction. When you received your orders you should also have gotten a list of items to be checked off/ cleared, such as shots up to date, medical, housing, and part of that should be transportation office.
By the way, what branch? Ex Air Force here, civil engineering.

Nope not given anything, it's pretty much every man for himself here. They are cutting civilian jobs where I'm at on the installation. I'm active duty army, aviation Powertrain mechanic.

Company level and battalion level commanders are leaving and company 1SG retiring, all in the mindset of leaving the division. Can't blame them either aviation at Carson is pretty much a black hole

Well that's no good. The military should be shipping your vehicle, so whoever is in charge of that should know what to do. I don't really see there being any issue as long as you have the vehicle registration and it is insured. If you set up where you can make your payments online, there is no problem there either.

I'm am on PCS orders overseas as well and Toyota financial send me the document authorizing me to move the vehicle.
You also will need your proof of insurance and your registration.

Re-finance through USAA and get a better rate. USAA knows exactly how to take care of military members concerning PCS moves, storage, shipment, etc.

That being said, you need a letter of release from the lien holder allowing the vehicle to be shipped overseas. Look at your documents and find out which financial institution actually holds the lien. Contact them and explain what you need. They will want a copy of your military orders.

As someone already previously mentioned, you will also need your insurance and registration. Make sure it is up to date. Call your insurance company and let them know the vehicle is going overseas. In the event of a shipping mishap, they can tell you what coverage they can provide. I say this because the shipping company contracted to do military shipping is awful (see note below).

** On a side note** Since this sounds like your first overseas PCS, there are a bunch of other things you can do with your finances and services. Contact all of your credit card companies and let them know you will be overseas. If you want to keep your phone # and service give them a copy of your orders and they can put a "military suspension" on your account. The good thing about this is you pay nothing and keep the same phone # and anytime you come back to the states all you have to do is call them and they will re-activate for the time you're in the country. The other option, if you don't like your service and have a contract, is give them your orders and they will terminate your contract.

Be prepared for delays in your vehicle arriving in Germany. There is a relatively new company (W/in the last 3 years) doing the shipments. They are horrible and are consistently late and sometimes even lose an entire vehicle. The earlier you get your vehicle to port the better off you will be. It is cheaper to rent a car on this end than to rent one in Germany.

FYI when you land in Germany chances are very likely you will lose any warranty. Lexus wouldn't warranty my IS 350 in Europe.

That's possible. Although I had a Challenger SRT8 in Italy and they did warranty work there.

I wonder if it is covered under the Soldier, Sailor Relief Act that companies are supposed to honor it?

I work at a VPC. First you'll obviously need your orders. Second vehicle registration. Third a letter from toyota financial authorizing shipment to Germanyou. If toyota financial asks for anything other than your orders like insurance or something you'll need that as well. Our company has insurance coverage on every car we get in full coverage throughout transit but sometimes financial companies want more

That sucks, they couldn't provide you the necessary info to ship your truck. As others have stated, you'll need an authorizing document from your lien holder (TFS, in your case) along with your reg and ins. I've only ever shipped motorcycles overseas and know that a titled vehicle is less of a hassle.

I wish I had my Taco here, but it's just too big. Probably could've gotten away if I had an AC instead of a DC.

Funny you mention; got an email this morning:

Thanks everybody for the information! Spoke to someone in Toyota who was finally able to give me the documents I need to ship my vehicle. Was almost tempted to just leave my vehicle here and buy a Bmw overseas
