I wouldnt trade up a Taco for a T4R. The 4runners are great and someday I want to get one as a second vehicle...er third or fourth vehicle, but not as my primary offroader. The Tacoma just had so much more versatility. Devin I'd just deal with this headache and hope they either fix it for good, or give you a replacement that works fine. I mean there are at least a couple thousand on here already (way to many, I know) that have never had issues like this. I'll say this for sure, Toyota rolled out this model way to early, it just really seems like they didn't do full road testing on the vehicle.

easily said by someone who hasnt had one or used one. The 4runner is great and very versatile. Its great offroad, interior is far superior and more plush and can haul just the same amount of shit.

Wanna race? jk jk No you're right, I haven't driven a 4Runner yet. The biggest thing that turned me off was the lack of LT in the rear, having to punch in to the cab or pay extra for a canti kit just killed it for me. Obviously thats pretty far out of the norm for most offroaders, that and the fact that your camburg kit wouldnt fit on a 5th gen. But still.

On that note the Wife said I can get rid of her CRV and buy her a 5th Gen T4R and put a mild MT lift on it. So that's whats up. I just have to bank roll it all.

I disgree on "haul the same amount of shit". Pretty sure we cant fit beds and couches in that thing. Im talkin' a 3 piece sectional stacked and strapped over the cab lol

roof and interior cargo space. unless you're hauling 6' tall fridges or the like its equal.

Your beds filled with shit anyway full time. Doubt you have anymore space than i do or a new gen.

    Touché
But all my stuff comes out if I had to haul stuff, so 6' fridges are still a possibility.

i love both the runner and tacoma. but I really love not having to worry about the interior storage space of a runner when it comes to really nasty/dirty/smelly stuff. just hose it out and move on. from an off roading perspective. I had a runner that blew my mind up in AK. bone stock except for some 33s. they are both great, just slightly different applications at times.

Since this is my first post on this thread, I need to add that I can't believe what I just read. good luck op!

Depends whether you want a truck with a bed or a Suv. I went with the truck as no way I would let my wet smelly 125 lb constant travelling companion (Mutt) in the back of my clean Suv.;)

    Still no news or updates...

But, the 4runner continues to impress me, and honestly I'm in no hurry now, this this is not only better driving, but the seats and driving position and interior are better in every way.

If they would make the Tacoma look and function like the 4 runner there'd be no problems. I honestly think the Tacoma is severely lacking right now..

I too much prefer a truck bed for hauling junk, but my truck bed doesn't do a lick of good when I can't wash the damn truck.

In reality I can't trade, so I'm stuck with this truck, until it screws up again and I can consider lemon law. The only issue is there's no way I can afford a lawyer at this time.

    Update:

There's dust in the fuel system again. After driving down dirt roads...

They need to drop everything, drain, clean and refill.... Mentioned insurance again but that's not happening this time...

    Wtf Toyota

Shouldn't have gone back to Fairfield Toyota bro. They're just gonna keep saying the same shit to get out of having to warranty it. Hopefully your insurance speaks up about this

There's clearly a root cause for this that they're missing. I'd imagine, if they do what they're proposing, it'll just happen again. The fact that this happened to you twice now and nobody else is awfully fishy!

I would let the insurance company know that the $14,000 they spent to repair your truck did not fix the problem. I want them to go after the dealership and/or Toyota for all that money they made them burn. Clearly this is a warranty issue.

Definitely. Horseshit that this went through insurance the first time, hopefully insurance doesn't just pay out a second time and keep feeding the dealer
