    To whom it may concern,

First and foremost, I would like to start this email with a big thank you to Fort Walton Beach Toyota (ZT motors) for having such a professional staff that has been helping me with all of my truck's troubles over the past couple of months. I am looking to meet with a certified Toyota engineer regarding the issues with my truck. I am worried about longevity and durability overall. Here are some reasons as to why I am concerned.
    • Bone dry u-joints. Had to be given grease badly. Discovered at around 1500 miles by my own self. Each grease zerk(out of 5) took minimally 5 pumps of grease.
    • U-bolts were not torqued to the right spec according to the manual. I shortly discovered this after the u joints. Fixed myself.
    • shaking driveline and vibrations during driving and breaking. Cleaned out break assemblies however problem still existent.
    • loud howling noise coming from rear of truck. Problem has been there from the beginning however has gotten much louder over time.
    • whistling from front of truck(later discovered it to be lca's and holes in front). Have not yet been plugged.
    • transmission and shifting issues(low on automatic transmission fluid) TSB came out for driving improvements. So far it has been better but still lacks on highway and is consistently hunting for gears on highway.
    • biggest concern is the leaf spring assembly. It has been SQUAKING and SQEAKING for roughly 2 months. Over time it has increased in volume and has virtually affected where I drive it and how far I drive it. The noise is extremely embarrassing and concerning due to potential of fracture and or breakage.

I am a huge Toyota fan and will alway purchase trucks and vehicles from Toyota. With that being said, however, I do expect the best from Toyota as I have always received. The great people at Fort Walton Beach have helped me in every single way they can. I would extremely appreciate it if I could have an overall look at some of my issues by a FTS. If I cannot have a fix for this issue I would like a form of compensation given the exhaustion amount of time that I have spend out of my extremely busy scheduling trying to make my truck usable at the minimum. I love this truck and would love to continue being a loyal Toyota customer. Thank you for the time to read this and for your endless pursuit for customer satisfaction.
    Vin number: 5TFCZ5

    Miles on truck: 7200 +or- a few...

The service manager told me yesterday that I needed to called corporate in order to get a FTS in the area. I called corporate and they told me the opposite lol. What a joke. I wonder if he thought I wouldn't call corporate or something....

I wonder if there is a listing of Tacomas that have been bought back?

While the number of owners experiencing issues may be small compared to the overall number of vehicles sold, there seems to be a significant number experiencing serious issues that don't have a ready resolution even after multiple dealer attempts at a fix.

It would be interesting to see but I'll bet it's a closely guarded bit of info.

I think your dealership should have the knowledge of when an FTS will be there or how to get one there. I was recently in for the rear diff noise and when I went back at the end of the day to pick up the truck (they wanted me to come back a couple days later for the shop foreman to drive it), they told me it wouldn't be necessary to bring it back again. They realized a FTS (well, they didn't say FTS specifically, but they said field engineer or something) was on site, told him the issue and he said to replace the diff.

So I'm sure the dealership can call and get an FTS out, I would assume they don't travel around the world to random dealerships asking if everything is OK that day.

Well it's a legitimate post. The defenders will be here soon to poke the hive. Then the mods will be forced to clean or lock.
