Well I have to verify the CVs are still part of the deal. He didn't mentioned them when I spoke to him yesterday. But he did seem pretty interested in getting the parts gone, so if he does have them I imagine he won't be hesitant to let them go. It's just that the diff is of little interest to me, and it's adding to the cost. I guess I could look into selling it to recover some of the cost.

Oh and to nitpick, this is not a mod, but a repair :p

I may take you up on that. Especially since I might have to drill out & retap one of the bolts that holds the front skid plate on.

Does the diff not work for your truck? If you end up like cyinicalrider you have a spare diff... If I could have a spare truck I would man...

Nah my diff works. I really just need the ADD actuator. But the guy wants to get rid of both together. I am not against having spare parts. Quite the contrary, they are great to have around. But the issues are 1) money and 2) space - I don't have all that much space to store parts indefinitely.

Can I use it or are you saving it? Does the template get ruined when installing?

So I just spoke to the CL guy and he said he'd do the diff, actuator, and CV axles for $130. Which is $20 less than what he was asking in the CL ad. I am still gonna look at the price I can get from my buddy, but it's looking like I will most likely be buying from this bloke. Plus, he's right in Newton, so I could pick them up same-day. I'll wait 'til tomorrow to see for sure.

@Sub-Zero If you wanted to give me a hand, when would you be free next? I might be able to swing it myself, but I'll let you know.

Might as well just do it all.

:notsure: right now my fenderwell is acting like a shovel for water because of how its trimmed for my minor rubbing I had going on... Honestly I jist like the look and the extra piece of mind of knowing you have a better chance of not hydrolocking the engine is enough for me. Im definitely not going to go and drive into water up over the hood but to know I can do it is enough for me lol. I kinda want to try winch hill again at rausch... I have a feeling Ill be submarining the truck on that one though so I am hesitant. I had some water in the truck from it last time but luckily I didnmt get stuck...

Honestly I got my snorkel for dust reasons. After my trip out west I saw how fast the filter gets screwed after traveling miles on dirt roads. I even got a precleaner as an expairament to see how much life I can really get out of an air filter. Not the "coolest" looking mod but after seeing first hand how they work on equipment I figured I'd try it out.

You should find a way to put a light in there. Looks like it'd make a nice lamp at night.

Hows the precleaner work for you? Would it help keep snow from getting in there?

That has crossed my mind :anonymous:
It works awesome. Even collects stuff spending most of the time on pavement. Got a good amount on my pines trip too. Changed the filter just before that trip so I gotta look to see what it's like. As far as snow I would imagine it would keep it out. Never had a problem with tractors but the truck moves at a higher speed so it's hard to say for sure. I know driving in heavy downpours there is a small amount of water(few drops worth) collected in the bowl.
