    I installed the diff drop when I did my lift and have had no issues. Havent had a torn boot (yet) 15,000 miles and still going. No vibes either.

    both my cv have looked like this for a year now. sdhq has high angle boots. cvj has total rebuilt cv's that you can get better boots with. go to my build and in the OP there is a link for the cvj info. I just plan on replacing mine with cvj

    Ya it's gets confusing forsure. I had mentioned my interest in one a year ago and 9/10 comments and many threads since have all stated.... it's just rotates the diff and it only drops MAYBE .25-.5", puts extra strain and other components and puts the diff in harms way. I am sure you have seen these same posts. I am no expert by no means, it's hard to tell who is right or wrong on this issue when it comes from guys who obviously know there stuff. I have heard the vibes is a definite help with it though as you stated.

    Yeah, I've read the posts. I can only speak about my personal experience.

    I'm not sure how it puts the diff in harms way, but then, I run a bud built skid so nothing is going to get to that diff. :p

    Yeah I know Monte is pretty vocal about these but I'm pretty sure he is going by what he has heard and read and has never needed to use one.

    It really does nothing more then rotate the diff. Cv drop is minimal.

    For whatever reason though it can cure some driveline vibes.

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    I'll chime in... never got one. Manual hubs means it really doesn't matter for me. But I've driven countless hundreds of highway miles with hubs locked and no vibes... So IDK, maybe it does something but for me it would just be extra money.

    From my personal experience vibes are minimal but both cv's still have ripped boots with a 1" diff drop....fins rub tough still. I'm going with high angle boots next.

    I have felt for quite some time that the early 1st gens (95.5-97) are more tolerant and more durable compared to later 1st gens. High axle angles is one of the areas where this seems to be true.

    My main concern for getting one was my cv angles and it did not seem to help from keeping my boots from ripping.

    Well duh they are better :cool:

    Yea they are worthless for saving cv boots.

    But the lesson there is less lift is better. Usually if your boots are touching bad you have too much lift. And that usually means your not sitting in the best part of travel anyways suspension wise.

    When I bought this truck the previous owner installed Billy 5100's and the eibach 620# 3" lift springs. He actually had the springs compressed to the middle setting (1.75") :eek: .....I reset the springs.back to 0" when I became owner and my hub to fender measures still about 24" or so. From that I believe I am still getting more than 3" of lift. Not totally sure what stock measurements are though. Moral of the story is I need new suspension :rolleyes:

    I have that same front setup (until I can get my Icons in) and it definitely lifts mine more than 3in.

    Yea the eibachs are...intense.

    Great if you have winch, bumper, skids, and dual batteries.

    Too bad the shocks they mount to suck ass
