Like the title says. Here's my eff up.

Finally got to cut my grass yesterday. One blade on my lawnmower finds the one rock hidden in the green abyss. The rock had been waiting it's whole life to meet that blade (127 hours ref). The angle was prefect. WHACK, now it's on course through the atmosphere headed directly for my prized 3rd gen black TRD Sport. The two meet up, my gas cap door.

I've fixed chips in the paint before. No biggie. I filled the chip, color, then clear. Now... we sand. Oh shit, is that primer, oh shit. GAME OVER. Now I gotta repaint this bitch. On the bright side, I just drilled the rivets holding it on and I should be done today.

Btw, for those who think Toyota uses single stage black, they don't. You can see the layers of clear, color, and primer in the pic.

Better the gas cap than a body panel, door, window, etc.

RIP my poor 4000 mile old tire.

But, there's an upside to every failure. Upgrade time!

    5x 265/75/16 Falken wildpeak a/t3w inbound. :)

Anybody need 4x goodyear wrangler adventures in 265/70/16?
3 of them have 4000 miles, 1 of them has 0 miles, only been mounted once.

Do you bag or side-discharge? Was the Taco in direct LOS with the side-discharge chute?

That was my 2014 TRD OR. When I got it there were few used rigs for sale up here and they were overpriced IMHO.

I liked it but... every time I went out I had to drop and bang out the skid plates, even on moderate terrain.

Now there seems to be a choice of used rigs. As I had replacement cost insurance I am ok for funds.

I am thinking of an older rig that I can lift. I need decent hyway manners but better bad road ability.

Old Tacos/pickups/4runners are nice and easy and cheap to lift. only issue is the older ones tends to be less spacious inside. Im a small dude but when I jump in from my 05 Taco to my 04 Taco or 96 runner the difference in room is noticeable.

I broke a tab off the little cabin air filter access panel. It still works, but F..... I'm not sure how the hell I managed that. I'll blame the dealer for something or whatever because I couldn't be that stupid.

I gather that was not a lawn mower accident...It looks closer to Rototiller...

Nope...not a single stage. Most Toyotas have an ED coat, a primer coat, a base coat and a clear coat. Also, most have an addtional coat of anti chip material between the ED and primer coats on the hood to reduce chipping.
