    Some really cool shit

I've lived in both places. But even though the cost of living is higher here in the Bay Area, you couldn't pay me enough to move back to Sac. The traffic there REALLY sucks. It's just as bad, or worse than the Bay Area. Massive population. Continued housing expansion. The roads are out dated. I listen to Tom Sullivan on KFBK in the afternoon and constantly hear about the jam ups all over. Periodically I have to go to Sac for business and it sucks big.

SAC is kinda the crossroads these days so it's plagued by people just passing through. Regardless, the problem is growth in other parts of the state has been discouraged in favor of the ripple of a pebble approach to planning in both areas. Pretty soon, the Bay Area and SAC will be one giant city-much the same as SF south to SJC already is as each region continues to grow out.

Hanalei. I dig the small beach town vibe, we're not big on the resorts and golf course scene. I went when I was like 5, and I fell in love with that place. I've been to every other island since, but not back to Kauai. Hoping to catch some good surf, and if it's small, then I'll be teaching my girls how to surf!

There is a sea food restaurant when you get into town on the right side of the road. On the back side of the restaurant is a fish market but they sell out early by 10:30ish. it's the best sushi I've ever had.

For all you gun folks from the bay area, what you think about this? My mom lives in Mill Valley and got this in her community email chain. I think its a great idea for the fact that some people really do have firearms laying around they don't need or want. Like me for example, I have an old Remington 597 22LR S-Auto that I dont want anymore, and would gladly take some cash for it and not have to do any work but dropping it off. Interesting though.....

Waste of tax dollars.... The guns that should be off the street will just remain on the street while the law abiding family heirlooms get turned in.

I agree with that 100 percent. But it's also a good excuse for someone in that area that does have a firearm or two they dont want (and maybe it isn't worth much anyways) to turn it in for some cash.

But why are my tax dollars paying to take something from someone so it can be destroyed. The police will gladly take any fire arm and destroy it for free any day of the year. I understand it may benefit people who want to make some easy money, but I don't understand why the tax payers are paying for it when that money could go to schools, roads, or mental health care facilities.

I know people who went to one in another County aND offered people a couple bucks more than the police were offering and got some cool firearms outta it.
