    I picked up a 2013 Off-road after looking for a while.

This 2013 was just traded in as I was ( just looking ) with my wife after a bike ride. I had long wanted one to replace my aging 1992 Landcruiser and keep up with my son who has a 2011 Sport. Here they are pictured together.

So knowing nothing about this Tacoma except I liked it I began reading this Forum. My wife hates this forum by now! Hopefully I will keep this going!

First thing to do was a road trip! Georgia was our destination and I was sure there would be some mild off-roading to be had!

For sure she can climb and the ATrack and locker is very cool! Missed some interior storage that our Tahoe had. (Well my wife missed it) I didn't seem to mind. One of the most important things my truck does is pull my boat and ride my partner around. Meet Wesson.

It does both well but I will have to fix that rear squat it has.

My wife does actually support me and like the truck. She may not understand me and the truck but she does like it.

Now it needs a lil bit of improvement! First the headlights were disappointing and I got new Sylvania bulbs for head lamps and fogs! Also did the anytime fog light mod posted on this forum!

    Awesome!

Next I needed better interior lights. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I bought some LEDS off Amazon! What a difference they make.

And now that it is bright inside and out some Ceramic tint including windshield.

    Running boards had to go!

Now time for some minor off-roading.

Coolest thing was once out trail riding I got to put out a small fire with my trusty assistant!

Couldn't have done that without the awesome help of my homemade shovel and axe mount. Also learned on this forum. Some really smart creative guys here!

The rack was added and a rear seat cover from Mossy Oak Walmart brand from a member that lives close that is changing his truck up. It looks cool and I tell people that is where I put the dead animals.

    Love the Fourth of July.

Although this truck is amazing at off-roading there are still some things missing. A winch would be ideal as I am in the woods a lot by myself.

However just being able to winch from the front can sometimes just get me in deeper than out. So cool that Mobtown off-road makes this hitch and recovery bar.

Here it is self installed and I am not all that handy. Good instructions made this easy. I added a Smitty built winch as well on a removable plate.

Makes the winch possible from front or back with quick connect cables. Also allows use of a High Lift front and back! My goal was always to have a close to stock looking truck but extremely capable off road. I believe this really makes that happen.
Last edition today and since I got this truck in March was new tires and all fluids drained and replaced. Toyota makes some expensive tranny fluid$$. Went with some Cooper STT Pro in 265/75/16. Nice tough tires.

    Here it is so far.

    Next project:
Looking into Bilstein coil overs UCA and rear shocks with AAL to give me about 2 inches of lift. Let me know what you think about that suspension combo and anything else that would be helpful with suspension. Aka how do I keep it from squatting under a load without causing big front end rake while unloaded.

Ordered up some Bilsteins and AAL from Marie at Head Strong Offroad.

She has a great demeanor and is very intelligent. I highly recommend them if you are considering lifting your truck.

My sons is lifted 3 inches so here are some comparisons.

My son visited and took a liking to my rack. He took it and added lights to each corner! Front light bar and rear light pods and now pods on each corner of the rack makes it amazing going down the trails.

I am very pleased with the truck now and the ride is much better than stock.

Sold the land cruiser to help finance this build. It was an awesome off-roading machine. Very hard to let it go because there was no where I couldn't drive it.
