2016 AC kayak setups ???

    Me and my wife just pulled the trigger on some kayaks and I'm wondering what are some of the best setups for guys with AC. Not sure how to go about it honestly, I've seen people just throw them in the bed and strap them down but I'd rather get a proper height bed rack and roof rack so it's up in the air and not hanging out 4 ft from the bed.     How'd you attach without messing up the factory rail? Thats whats scaring me. I love to kayak, but have yet to put my two seater in the water since getting the truck.

    I bought these anchors from summit racing. I put 5 on each side. 4 of them go through my toolbox.

    My .02's i loaded kayaks on top of cars for 5 years and it gets old. 4 straps per kayak. Tensioning, lifting, riding, etc etc. I bought a truck to avoid that and it has been great. You have a longbed and if they are 10ft kayaks, they fit fine to go in the bed or on bed rails...even if they do stick out a bit. Lifting an awkward 50 lbs over your head after paddling for a few hours gets old quick.

    I can load 4 kayaks in the bed faster than my friend can load one on his civics roof.

    Again my 2 cents arent worth anything but you definitely need nose and tail straps if it's going on the roof.

    Where can I buy that extender? This is probably what I'll end up doing.

    Thanks bud yea I'm most likely just going to put them in the bed with an extender in the tailgate to support them. Thanks for letting me know your experience really helped me decide on what to do. Lifting 100lbs up in the air doesn't sound like too much fun when I can just throw it in the bed and strap it down. :thumbsup:

    I use J cradles on top and only have to strap them there. No need for bow or stern straps. I even haul them over 300 miles on the interstate. Since I usually go for 4 or more days I need room in the bed for coolers and such. The shortest kayak is 12 feet..
