Ya I learned to embrace the stiffness ....speedbumps are avoided lol. I have learned enough on here now that there are much better options for my uses so will be upgrading my suspension front and back when the wallet allows.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Eh, for what they are they play pretty nicely on slow speed wheeling with a little weight. But whoa mamma if you go fast and hit a pothole without any more down travel may there be mercy upon your spine.

Nice, I'm currently running no weight up front yet so cruising through the mall parking lot :D is like back breaking when I hit a bump going slow for me :notsure:

    Your nose is growing....full.jpg

Was not meant to say you don't wheel. It's was a generalization. My meaning was I don't look for advice on turning my truck into a weekend wheeling rig from guys who Ride on 20" rims and drop bracket lifts, so the advice i get is from guys who know what there doing (somewhat;) ).... nothing but respect man, your build has had me  since I joined TW.

The after market radiators I've used were wider then the OEM so bolting back to the brackets might be difficult.

omg, the diff drop discussion again.
    Love it.
It does help, I have one. I've removed it once just to see for myself if the boot fin separation was really that minimal, it's more than most realize if they don't actually put one in. I put it back in and won't bother to question it again.

Now I think where the discussion takes a turn is that some feel it's not enough of a difference to really make it worth the trouble. I won't debate that, removing the skid sucks ass. The kit itself is super easy to install. The drop is tiny, but noticeable. If you have the AAD axle and vibes, it might just help.

I don't think having one will prevent your boots from tearing, the fins rub all the time, people just don't realize it. I mean, we have to turn a corner sometimes, and fins rub. I do think the extra drop does help over time though, getting a little more life out of things.

The only reason I got a diff drop was because it already hs it on and the bolts were bent and you can't find just the bolts for cheap lol.

Added a very important piece of survival equipment today !!!! I will be adding a backup one to the front ARB bumper, not sure why they don't come with one already welded on, just in case one is not able to make it to the rear of the TACO !!!!

I've been hearing the same thing. OM are the best. How much better? Do they fail when off roading? Do they ever fail while running in 2 wheel drive?

My last 1st gen went 300,000 miles. I found I had a torn boot at 26,000 miles. I intended to run that CV joint to failure. It never failed. It clicked a little bit when turning in 4wd.

My present 1st gen also has a torn boot. If I replace it, it will be one of the local store brand version. If I replace it.

The biggest problem with aftermarket CVs is they oftentimes provide less articulation than OEM and can bind at full droop.
