If the TRD Pro cat back is really a dual cat-back like how it was when they revealed the truck then the $800 is worth it to me. I paid $500 for my Magnaflow "cat-back" that didn't even go all the way to the cat...

Not a ton of them out there yet, probably because dealers are starting to order trucks with them pre-installed

If you have ever owned a sports car, $800 is a good price for a catback. My Evo X Turbo back was $1300

It isn't really a good price when the competition is $150-$300 less

Some people are just cheap. Then when their shit rusts out they could've spent the extra money instead of buying a replacement later down the road...LOL

Some people dont understand that cheaper parts means, well cheaper materials, cheaper welds, etc. When you use cheaper parts you get a slightly different sound and the parts dont hold up over time.

Some friends of mine cheap out on their exhausts on their Evos, a few months down the road they had small exhaust leaks coming from the welds.

You get what you pay for. Same goes for rims. The people who spend $400 on a set of 4 rims and they hit a pothole and crack a rim and then wonder why.

So you can buy the cheapest v6 tacoma and slap on the trd exhaust for $800 and it will sound exactly like the $44k trd pro tacoma

Am i the only one seeing this as a bargain ?

TRD Pro is really only for the person that is going to keep the truck stock. Its the bought not built Taco. For the people who do mild off roading and dont want to put in the modding work.

Buying yourself either an SR5/OR and putting in the money for suspension is the better way to go IMO but some people want it straight from the factory ready to go, even more so than the OR.

My borla was still cheaper and it is 400 series SS mandrel bent.

This TRD catback, you are paying for the badge.

Other companies have to put in some R&D as well too. I'm sure Borla, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc. didn't just throw darts at a board for their 3rd gen exclusive catback systems.

Toyota didn't revolutionize muffler technology for the Pro....

It comes down to sound since that is all a catback is good for pretty much anyways. If people hear the Pro exhaust and think that it is worth $150-$300 more than the competition then it is justifiable for them. But to buy it just because it is the "pro catback" is kind of silly.

7" aluminum rear driveshaft is a dead giveaway. I would know, I just put a new driveshaft on a 16 TRD OR Tacoma just a few minutes ago.

Those tundra TRD exhausts do sound great, though.

I recently drove a 17 Tacoma witg the TRD exhaust installed, and it was only slightly louder. Maybe they'll "break-in" over a few hundred miles.

The tundra exhaust sounds great because it has a V8 behind it. There is only so much you can get out of a V6. The borla I have made it a little louder (most noticeable in the 3200-3500 rpm range) and gave it a mildly deeper tone all around. Thats really all I expected and I'm very happy with it. I didn't expect people to start turning heads screaming "OMG DO I HEAR A VIPER? WTF NO ITS ONLY A 2016 TACOMA!? I'M SHITTING MYSELF AS WE SPEAK!!@#!@!"

OK, maybe nobody here has taken it that far yet, but you get the point :drunk:

LOL well that's up to them on how they want to spend their hard earned money. Are you gonna make the decision for everyone on how to spend their money? LMFAO! Different strokes for different folks. Just because you're a cheap ass doesn't mean everyone else is...LOL!
