I just bought a 13 DCSB Off Road with 17,000 miles for $27,000.00. No way I'd pay anywhere near that for a that vehicle.

I'm watching a project Tacoma as we speak. If this one doesn't go to high, I might toss in a bid. Its at $1200 with a couple more days to bid.[IMG]

I would pay 1000.00 for a high mileage and wrecked truck like that.

Am I seeing this correctly? Is that a $5000.00 supercharger on top of a $1200.00 truck? Good luck picking this thing up. That's a diamond in a shit mine.

THAT would qualify as the hands down find of the year on TW. Keep this thread updated and seriously, good luck!

Actually, that type of thing occurs quite often. Most people buying these things are not going to pay the extra $ for an aftermarket part, when they can buy the same thing next week for much less. I say MOST people;)

For $14k budget, I'd look for a clean low(er) mileage 1st gen unless you can find a early 2nd with low miles for a steal!
Definition of clean: no wrecks, no drips/leaks or oddish noises (say oddish because tacomas are noisy trucks to begin with), and absolutely no rust.
They are out there, just take time to find a properly owned/well loved taco.

Am I missing something about this truck? All I read was a truck with body damage and a lot of miles and a high price tag. Last I remember, high miles does not make a vehicle unreliable and neither does body damage.

I really want to see the damage now.

I do like the way lots of you guys think. Thinking vehicles with body damage are not as reliable leaves more choices for guys like me.

Actually I'm trying to compute. If you are on this site, don't you want to learn and maintain and save money working on your own vehicles? Whats the point being here if you don't?

Yea, I'd be looking for a salvage title, clean engine (maintained) one if I was cutting one up.
Title won't mean squat in the future once it's cut on. (Unless you're building a mall overlander)

I would pay $5k for it, and not a penny more. You can find better used tacomas for around that price.

Now that is just unrealistic. I will be gone at lot more than 5k.

This is from a dealer. You're not going to talk them down to wholesale prices. It's best to just move on. This truck should be in the 12-14k range if it was in great shape.

For people with dough there's dealers.
    For everyone else there's craigslist.
