The same shit everyone else has.
Looking for ideas for manual shift knobs for my truck.

Ive seen the grey TRD knobs done about 5000 times. Looking for other options.

Either something OEM but heavier, or aftermarket but heavier.

Maybe one from an FRS? Or a something similar to the TRD knob but with no logo etched into it?

Mine is an auto, but I have a Lathewerks knob on mine. I also have one on my Ram 2500 Cummins and my BRZ, both of those are manuals. For an auto it was just a neat accessory but the manuals definitely improve shifting. The BRZ shifter was good already but a little weight helped, the weighted knob on the Ram was a major improvement.

Lathewerks will make whatever you want and whatever pattern you want if you can get him a pic, I had to do that with the Ram. He can cut in a boot lip, reverse lockout recess, various types of finishes, grooves, different materials and sizes as well. All of mine are gunmetal stainless. The Ram is the same shape as the Tacoma, the BRZ is a sphere. The only thing really custom with the Tacoma knob was that he had never made a knob using the thread pattern that the Tacoma auto uses, but there were no issues with mine at all.

it was back in the early 80s I bought a 1976 dodge power wagon and I wanted something other than an OEM shift knob so I went down to the local pool hall and bought an 8 ball, drilled it, tapped it and used that a shift knob. I have been using that same 8 ball on every truck I have ever owned since. I have had to redrill it out and tap it to a bit bigger size for different trucks as I've gone along but it's the same knob.

Thanks for postin guys. Keep em coming.

I had an old Momo aluminum sport knob in my Jetta for a while. It was super simple. I wish I never got rid of it. It would have been perfect for the Tacoma I think

    Looks like a hand throttle.

Im leaning towards something simple like a round black delrin knob with nothing on it.

    Auto threads are M8 x 1.25.

I got mine from Lathewerks. He has a brass knob. But if you can do it, I'm certain you can do it cheaper!

Joe will customize a knob or engrave yours. He can even use an image you supply if you have something special.

Don't be put off by seeing a lot of Miatas. Remember that prior to 2006 about 90% were manual.

And yes, he has knobs that fit Tacomas.
