Works good in Texas too. All of my neighbors are stone or brick front but hardiplank siding...I'm brick all over. A couple complain about their A/C not keeping up when it's 100+ outside, a problem I don't have because it's better insulated.

I hear that. My electric bill compared to most around here is half as much. I could use some more insulation in the attic though.

Spray foam. It's the shit. We have a "tight" house by design. Insane how much cooler our house is with half the sized HVAC unit my in-laws have, and their house is smaller.

 

I saw somewhere in Texas they are making attics temp controlled zones. That would be the shit.

 

Mine is the same temp as my house. Safe storage. It requires an HVAC system designed for it...we have a separate venting for dumping humidity. The roofing also has a reflective barrier down before the shingles. It does an incredible job in keeping the sun from baking the house.

 

That's what I'm talking about. We have a metal roof and it reflects plenty but I would love to foam the attic. We also have a crawl space under the house that keeps the temp down too.
