I'm still confused as to why you want the Tacoma other than looks? Especially since you have a truck that already fits all of your needs. Any other reason?

If not, then you're just about to buy a really expensive toy. And only you and your wife can make the decision there if you guys have the money to do that.

Most people think ferraris look cool. That doesn't mean they need to go out and buy a new one. Save your money, don't buy any vehicle based on looks alone.

I meant to say keep the Ford if you have people or kids to haul around. The tacoma rear seats are cramped

Problem is some people buy a 15-20 year old Ferrari and think they look cool. More like stupid.

Keep the Ford, if my garage were about 2 feet longer I would have bought a F-150 instead of a 2016 Tacoma.

The goal here gents is to replace the minivan with another do it all sort of vehicle. Now I did some research, the taco seemed like it was a good alternative, but the lack of back seat room is not exaclty helping me convince my better half. Is the 4runner any better? Kids are still in car seats for a couple of years. My truck is awesome, but its a huge boat...hence the reason a second truck smaller but capable with enough interior space would fit the bill... if the Tacoma has a cramped rear seat im screwed..... now wheres my beer

The first mistake you made was coming here. It says Tacomaworld but it's more like Wehatetacomasbutbuythemanywayworld.

Go to the dealer, drive it, make your own decision, be happy.

Edit: 4Runner Pro...you can't go wrong with it. It fits your needs and has 4x4.

You're talking about an SUV/minivan with a bed. You just sold your wife a Ridgeline and don't know it yet.

OP, are your kids in booster seats or car seats. Booster seats facing forward fit well.

I've owned a 2013 f150, 2015 f150 and a 2016 taco. Wife has a 2013 explorer. You WILL be disappointed in the interior room going from a minivan to the taco!

You want a "do-all' vehicle that's not a minivan, check out the highlander!

Not many places will have a manual in stock. I had to order mine and fly out of state to get it....

And I live in a major city with plenty of dealerships.

Use the toyota website to find if one is near you, I don't know if you live in an area with one dealer for 100 miles or have a bunch of local options

Manual ftw but it slims down your options big time. It's one of the big reasons I ended up with a Tacoma. 5 speed auto in t4r was biggest reason why I couldn't go with it. Have you considered a Jeep Wrangler? Can get a manual and seat 5 comfortably. Will have 3 engine choices next year too or so they say. V6 gas V6 eco diesel and turbo 4

There are no manual 4 Runners, haven't been in about 15 years.

    It's a minivan without being a minivan.

My FIL has a 2011 Highlander Limited, and I agree that it is NICE. Very comfortable. Front wheel drive. Lots of storage, same driving height as a truck, gets the same mileage as my Tacoma.
