Thanks guys, just a little trick I picked up from the youtubes. Still doesn't protect the tire as much if you aren't very good at coloring between the lines like myself lol. File folder strips sound pretty clever too

That's one of the things I wanted to protect was the tires, was doing my new Audi Q5 wheels. the strips were long enough to go halfway around the tire and I also did the same thing on the back so I could do the inside. both strips met on the tread where I taped them down.

Around 650. The UV coating was a extra 90 and going over the rail was extra too.

    I do. Haha

I was quoted around 550 to do mine without the UV coating. Figured I'd give it a shot and do it myself since I'm cheap and wound up costing me around 170-180. If I had the cash I probably would have paid someone but in the end, I was glad I'm cheap. lol

If I ever do it again, I'll know the in's and outs of doing it faster and better.

Yea I questioned it, but was informed that because of the length, it was considered a full size bed. Wtf? Its half the height though? Oh well.

I'd like to kick the person in the nuts that used a DIY bedliner kit in my Tacoma. I"m not a fan.

Not sure what you're referring to? I said the drop in bedliner caused the problems, the Herculiner I put on myself came out great. Drop in bedliners are a pain because they trap all kinds of crap underneath them (including water that can lead to rust), and the scratch the hell out of the paint.

Did they do a crappy job or something?

It looks like they did a good job, but the last two Toyota trucks I had I had them done in LineX and it looked so much better. If there was an easy way to get this stuff off I'd have it redone in LineX next week. I'm half tempted to find another bed and have it painted to match before LineXing it

Damn, you really hate DIY bed liners huh? haha, it's cool...to each their own. I like the utilitarian look and feel of it, matches the aesthetic of my truck and the direction I'm going with it. Is there even a hard way to get a DIY bed liner off? They seem pretty permanent.

Wondered about that, thanks. Sitting about 2/3 full now, I'll top it up. Guessing the 13WLs move more fluid through the res?

I'm pretty much already eyeballing another bed and tailgate. I'd like to repaint the truck in the next year and I'm looking to spend up to $4-6k to have it done right. This would include the price of the bed plus some misc trim, parts for a glass out respray (stock color) The current paint is not bad, but not great. It does not make financial sense to do this LOL

All of it has to do with the person putting it in. You can make it look just as good as line-x

Previous owner put in garbage spray in bedliner and its flaking and looks horrible. Anyway to get it off completely to re do it right with line-X?

If its the cheap roll on type liner, acetone or lacquer thinner.

Might as well buy 5 gallons, soak a bunch of old towels in the thinner and let it eat the old liner coating. Put dry towels over the soaked towels. It slows down the evaporation of the thinner.

Either this or get some jasco paint stripper, it's easy to apply and works awesome but will take your paint off so be careful.
