    Last time I was on a scale, I was a little over 4200, but still only doing 19 mpg at best on 31s. Damn 2.7 is too small for these trucks

    I would think the lighter weight would not be worth it due to less strength, especially since those are supposed to be used to keep the truck off things like rocks and stumps, and when it is 5000 lbs, the strength becomes a bigger deal

    From what I've seen aluminum skids hold up pretty well but definitely not near the strength of steel. If you are into more overlanding then aluminum will be plenty, if you want to hit Moab/rubicon/fordyce creek etc.. then steel for sure.

    Halogen.. the led ones were too expensive. I can convert these to hid for another 60 bucks and they will outshine led anyday.

    Just got rear ended driving home over the Snoqualmie pass. Very low speed because there was traffic. CBI rear bumper 1, other truck 0. Looks like the only thing he hit was the spare tire which dented his hood. I can't even find a scratch. Going to take the spare in to check the balance and make sure it's safe.

    I didn't see it until now but the story is they were sleeping in the bed when it popped out of gear and rolled backwards down the hill. Older Toyota truck. No one was hurt.. But always use your e brake on a hill!
