I commute 60 miles a day in my Taco to NYC and it sucks but I love it. I average 19.6 mpg with 265/70r17 LTX MS 2's which really isn't bad with all things considered. NYC has become a parking lot worst then I ever seen in the last twenty years. Because having a commuter car is so damn expensive in NY state it just doesn't make sense to have two vehicles. I need something that legitimately can tow 4000 pounds that has a solid rear axle (towing that much without a solid axle is a scary experience in my opinion), fit two infant car seats, a true 4x4 system to use on trails to go ATVing and hunting, and dependability for my children. The Tacoma fit the bill but it rides and drives like a Mack truck from the 1970's. The truck does have airbags in the rear with low PSI. If my hobbies were different I would give a serious look at the 4Runner or if I had the room to park at work I would look at F150 but probably get the Tundra. Both of these trucks have hands down a more comfortable ride then the Taco any day of the week. I miss my 2003 because it was much more nimble in the in and out traffic. Truthfully OP if you aren't going to use it for any of it's intended purposes I would look elsewhere...or doing nothing at all which makes the most financial sense.

After just having my wife's Honda towed to the shop I'd say that is the one thing you do have to look forward to versus the Tacoma unless you get one with a bad CPS. Honda Pilot decided that it wanted to eat more money.

Funny thing is my wife has a 16 Pilot elite and the ridge rides much better and quieter. Some of it may be due to the Pilot being on 22's with 40 series tires and my ridge being on 20's with 50 series. The more sidewall the more it absorbs road noise and bumps in the road from what I have been told. I know the ridge has a longer wheelbase than pilot and the suspension components are more "robust" on the ridge, not sure how much that plays into things.

Can you really lock the doors? That would eliminate my desire for a remote start (the only need I have is to leave the truck running with AC on for my dog), and would be awesome.

    Will have to try.

Have you noticed any limitations, such as the truck shutting off after a period of time?

I have learned that advice is almost always more suited to the one giving advice than to the one getting it.

Only 17.1 Mpg's on the new ridge? Shameful for a Honda. I would have kept the ford and had twice the power and same Mpg's. Thought Hondas got better Mpg's than that. Makes me want a new Nissan with the Turbo diesel. Damn shame! How can ford get the mpg/power ratio right and the Japanese get worse? Bring back the eighties little Japanese trucks again!

Nope. Doesn't work. Unless you're referring to taking the key outside with you, and locking it while it's running. But if you walk further than 10 feet from the truck, it will shut off. And if you're trying to say that I can leave one smart key in the truck to keep it running and then lock the doors with the second key, no, also doesn't work...

Just looks out of place. Lifted ridgeline? Its a unibody with a minivan face. At least OP knows where the styling should go for a ridgeline. Eh to each their own.

Can't blame you there, for how you use a truck.

Leveling is for those who don't understand why rake is engineered into any vehicle for multiple purposes. Leveling won't improve anything functional.

Nice to have a bucket 'o bucks to burn! Keep the economy humming and the salesmen happy!

Sorry dude, that's sissy land stuff. I don't care how many people like it. And future high dollar repair bait. I guess when one doesn't keep something long enough to change the oil it doesn't matter though.

You're already driving the right one. Those that don't know think it's a truck. Those that do know will only see you on the street anyway.

That is a nice looking sample. Glad they ditched the rear sail.

I was shopping between 2016/17 Tacoma vs. 2016 4Runner and ended up with a 2016 4Runner SR5 Premium. The Honda Ridgeline never entered my mind because it is like buying a Pilot without the trunk cover. I would take a Tacoma any day over Pilot given its strong resale value and sans a timing belt job to worry about. I would also say a Ridgeline is more "XX" than "XY". I would say sell your Ridline (prepare to lose $3-5K) and trade it in for a 2017 Tacoma or get a 4Runner TRD.
