Well I don't drive far for work, but if it's going to be a long drive prolly change my mind. I feel like I get more respect driving my truck than my civic. They don't cut me that often when I'm in my truck lol :D

Haha! True story. I get no love in the little Kia. But at 500 trillion gigga miles per gallon and parking accessibility everywhere I'm coo.

Word. And I'm sure your uncle is right. Hes also a part of a different generation. He's got old school knowledge and new school technology. The kid that ran my alignment was talking about his night at the house party while barely paying attention to his job. Lazy fuckers that gun deck their paperwork (gun deck is a navy term for falsifying data sheets). Example, the kid wrote my current tire pressure down on my sheet but I never saw him check my pressure. I didn't miss it either. My truck went straight in the rack. Eyeballed the whole process. Took about 30 mins or so. Same goes for oil changes. Those fuckers advertise topping off fluids, adjusting pressures, etc. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
It's a real shame we can't just prop up a DIY garage alignment and have it not be a massive piece of shit. This is why people hate auto shops, exactly this all of this.

Hm. So I guess with a small investment and some practice you COULD do it?

One of the benefits of being in the Navy was the on base "hobby shop". It was a DIY garage with full lifts and tools. Bring in your parts (military discount of course), and pay 5 bucks per hour for a lift bay with all tools provided for use. There was a time limit but only if there was a line. Hardly ever a line. Had an alignment bay as well.

Today was a great day to tackle a project like this. La Habra topped out at less than 80!

@Nicklovin Nick, @madsand Sandz One of the main reasons why I kept my 2005 Civic DX/VP. I STILL get approx. 30-34mpg with it on a 11.5gal tank. The truck, I estimated I was getting around 21mpg, at best (NOTE: ALL are based off of freeway). Starting next week, I plan on using the Civic as my DD and the Taco as a weekend player, LOL!!!

Greg, think about it bro, you get a gas saver vehicle and THAT is THAT much MORE $$$ you can save and throw at your rig!!! Just my humble opinion thoughts on the matter.

I respect that. But I'll pass on that advice, brotha. It's not so much about the gas and other mods as it is about mileage. The amount of cash I'm putting into it I want it to last one trillion million years. For me, a 3k daily is a smart decision for my trilly milli year financial plan.

    Thanks though, wild man Randy!

Interesting story: I actually did a large spreadsheet which calculated out what it would cost to curb the Taco and only drive it for fun on weekends with a HYBRID as a daily. I took into account my average-ish mileage minimum for work and for play and assumed payments on the hybrid (kinda on the high side, but yeah) and it really doesn't save nearly as much money as we hope it does. In fact, with a payment, I was actually losing money each month until the hybrid was paid off (in one year) or breaking even if I paid the minimum (in ~2 depending on payment size).

Now. If you factor in tires and wanting to save wear and tear on the truck? Makes perfect sense.

Payment? I'd be a fool to take on another payment just to curb the taco. I'm talking about a beater as a work vehicle. No spread sheet needed to crunch that math.
