I didn't care at all for the styling on the original Ridgeline, but the new one doesn't look bad. I own both a Tacoma and F-150. They meet my needs much better than the Ridgeline. But base on what I understand from your comments I think the Honda may well be the best fit for you.

Seems like the ridgeline fits your needs. If you want to get more of a truck look and feel, save your money and modify it. Lift it, add all terrain tires, ect...

No trolling. I honestly like the Tacoma and 4 runner and having some buyers remorse. Just not sure if it is enough to dump the ridge and get a Blue TRD sport, or off road depending on that test drive of the off road. Not everyone has bad intentions, and I honestly appreciate all the post and have read them all. No harm intended at all.

Do you need to know, or care?
IDK, but if you just purchased a Ridgeline and have buyer's remorse after driving off the lot, then either you didn't do any of your homework before purchasing or you fell victim to a very good salesman. Either way, you shouldn't be asking others what YOU should do. Why would you care what others think you should be driving? Drive what you want and fits your lifestyle. If I was driving a mini van and lovin' it, I wouldn't be on the Corvette fan page asking them if I made the right choice. Just sayin'.

Is this post due to the mods punishing Dbag and making him pretend to like the ridgeline to prove a point?

My first thought was buy a Ridgeline and join Tacoma forum?

I don`t know of anyone that bought a Taco and joined the Ridgeline forum. :notsure:

Each to their own. There`s one more member participating here so maybe the Op has something of value to add.

Sorry but the key thing is funny to me. I would rather my vehicle have a key that doesnt require a battery and that allows me to leave my vehicle running and lock the doors and take a spare key with me like i do regularly when i have my dogs with me. Pretty sure you cant compare a gimmick to indoor plumbing but i also still prefer driving stick, guess im a caveman lol. For what its worth I think the ridgeline is cool and would consider it if it came in stick and wasn't so dam ugly up front.

Dayum OP go fer it Life's too short, live life, make a salesman day buy a taco. You know you want to! After the trade, the dealer will put your Ridge on a spinning display & all the other toys on the lot will point at it. Yours is pretty sharp.

Nope, not even the 1st gen ridge did. Very hard to find m/t 4x4 trucks nowadays. Taco, frontier, dodge 2500 are it, hoping the new jeep truck will have a stick.

In all fairness, there are a ton more people using the internet to research and talk about their trucks than even 5 years ago. I am sure TW could produce membership vs. time stats and some crude extrapolation would show a ton of issues for 1st and 2nd (just as wrong as counting posts/threads for 3rd gen). Counting the number of complaints/threads vs 1st gen or 2nd gen is really meaningless.

I never even thought about using the internet to research or talk about my 08. It has literally ballooned in only the last several years. For perspective, Facebook has only been a public platform (not college exclusive) for 10 years even though it seems like forever. In 2008, there were literally more Myspace users. Not discounting the Taco problems, just that in comparison to other gens, the internet stats don't really tell any meaningful story without some serious and risky number massaging.

I test drove the ridge a few times and did as much research as I could find out there before purchase. I owned a gen 1 ridge and drove it for 8 years. I guess its like they say, you can never go home again. Gen 2 has almost gotten to refined for its own good. Gen one was more truck like, when you look out the windshield it felt like a truck (you could see the damn hood, like in the Tacoma) and I drove that truck trough snow and ice, mud and always felt like it would get me through whatever I wanted it to. Gen 2 does not feel the same. I am not someone put here my the "mods" or someone screwing around. If I had that much spare time i'm sure I could find something better to do than get people on a truck forums panties in bunch. Just asking where I thought would be the best place to hear how everyone that was an "enthusiast" about Tacoma's and drove them felt about their trucks. I was one of the early adapters of the ridge so it was a risk going in I was willing to accept. I don't hate the ridge, just after driving it a month i am not feeling the same as I did my gen 1 and what you seem to feel about your Tacoma's. Thanks again for the information, you guys have been great about it.

Have you checked out car complaints on the 2016 Tacoma--I would take a look. Looks like a record number of complaints since it's inception.
