Start there. First post is some of the best info you will get.

Im no expert either but from poking around here. Going over a 2-3 inch lift can lead to some headaches and unfavorable drivability. Throwing in some upper control arms with a 2-3 inch lift also helps with alignment and such.

You can do 33"s with that big of a lift if you have the right wheels (offset and spacing come into play). Chopping some plastic away could also be required but not always.

Check out this thread also to see what others have done. Sometimes copying someone or changing it up a little from them is the easiest way to go. o_O

In that case you could probably get away with a 6 inch lift, but research more. Don't take my word for it.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
So we'll assume you buy quality parts. But since you have 'no idea where to start', should we also assume you'll pay a shop for all the labor? You'll spend at least 10% of the cost of the vehicle for a different suspension, wheels, tires and labor.

To give up ride quality, braking, handling and MPG in exchange for looks.

    What a grand plan!
