I've got a 2016 Tacoma, and before when I first got it I used to be able to play music straight from my usb cable, and then all of the sudden i kept getting a connection error with it, I took it to toyota and they said that my car doesn't support that, but it worked for the first 4 months that I had it. Anybody else have any issues with this?

I had this issue as well. I deleted and reinstalled the terrible toyotaentune app, and then disconnected and reconnected the bluetooth on my phone, i mean delete the truck all the way and reconnect. Worked like a charm after.

What type of cable are you using? I've had several aftermarket(not apple) cables short out and once this happens the head unit shuts off the outlet so then it won't work until the ig is cycled and a good cable is used.

I'm using an aftermarket one but it's not like a cheap one, I may have to test it out with a actual apple cable
