Anyone Have Their Wisdom Teeth Removed???

Yeah I mean how well can you sing with someone's hands in your mouth? lol good luck with it man. It's not that bad. My mom also took pictures of me all swollen and chipmunk looking. Found the pics like 2 years later on a memory card I never used. Insult + injury. FML. Hahahahahaha.

haha. I have never felt different with pain medicine (broken bones, staples, concussion), but I have never had meds that knock you out for a good while.

 

ughh...not looking forward to this..my bottom jaw has been bothering me for the past couple of days. Guess I gotta go in and see a specialist.

 

yea. Sorry to hear that bro. Also, it will be worse cause you waited. I learned that waiting makes it worse and can lead to some bad things.

 

my dentist has been telling me that since there not bothering me, dont mess with them...but now that they hurt, I gotta do it I guess

 

They showed me a vid and it said that holding off can lead to nerve damage, longer healing periods, infection, problems with other teeth, and even diabetes

 

I got mine done last december. They put me out for it. The laughing gas is AWESOME!! I was reading the "sylvania" on one of the light bulbs in the OR and I couldnt stop laughing at it. I dont remember anything from that point until I was laying on the couch in our living room lol. My mom said I asked her how long it took like 100000 times on the way home. It took like 2 weeks until I could sort of eat normally and about 6 until the "craters" healed over. They also gave me perkiset to take but I just took Tylenol instead, I still have about 10 pills if anyone is interested... . Just make sure you do the salt water and keep everything as clean as possible. good luck

Yeah dude. You'll be way better off having them out the younger you do it.

 

I seriously almost puked for the first few days or so but I eventually got used to it (I used warm salt water).

 

Yea I learned that today. I started feeling the pain of teeth coming in about 7 weeks ago and then went to my ortho about 2 weeks after for a retainer check and found out I needed them removed

 

Had all four pulled at once, two were inpacted. Opted to save $500 by staying awake, as this one was a cash deal. All went well, was eating pizza two days later.

 

had mine out about a year or 2 ago didnt even need the pain pills

I doubt I will use them cause I waited a week to go the hospital with a broken hand and thumb. Played lacrosse the whole week. I'm a goalie and it takes a toll on your hands

 

Dental work has changed so much in the past few years (for the good). I just had a root canal, temporary crown, permanent crown.
Never took prescribed pain medication, Only advil one time.

 

I had mine out 10 years ago. not so bed take the drugs, dont eat anything sharp. Its a bit annoying for a week or so then its like it never happened. just my experience

 

All 4 of mine are impacted and my top ones are pushing on my "12 year old morals"

 

Yep, had all four of mine removed. The lower two were impacted but that wasn't the worst of it. When I got to the dentist's office they were low on gas pressure, meaning they had nothing other than novocaine for me. I was 18 and had taken off work (with no vacation) on a Friday to get it done so I felt like I had little choice but to go ahead. They numbed me up pretty good and dug in.

Wow, that sucked a lot...

They had to use a cutting attachment on their drill to cut through bone on my impacted teeth where they had fused with my jaw and then essentially pried them out using the dental equivalent of a screwdriver.

Wow, that sucked even more...

At least I didn't get dry socket or some horrible infection. But after that experience I was pretty out of it for the weekend. No ice cream for me... just meds and lots of sleep.
