Im talking about the balljoint... Theres alot of stress on it... Has nothing to do with it touching the coil...

And im telling you to do the boot slide mod or you will be replacing your CV boots in about 5k miles and every 5 k after that until you slide them down.

Had to do it to mine... I can see your inner boot fins touching eachother in the picture clear as day... Just pry the clamp off with a flat head wiggle end of boot to slide down and cracka hose clamp down on it as tight as you can without ripping the boot.

You will thank me later Mason

I've put about 5k on this setup (minus the wheels and tires) and have had no issues.

Maybe you worry to much? :p

yeah but your a 16, and not a DCLB... its a PITA to figure it out since DCLB's are the readheaded stepchild of the tacoma, and with the truck being a DD if i install the lift and then find out its undrivable because of a UCA issue im in deep shit.

On another note, i noticed that the truck now sits about 1" lower in the back, and the trailer/vehicle combo the other day was only 4k, and it was a dual axle car trailer, so it sat level when loaded.... WTF toyota, why you buy shitty leaf springs.

No I just do things the fool proof way. Itd be smart to slide the boots down before you have to replace your CVs and itd be smart to get new UCAs before that balljoint fails on you. Preventative measures.

It might not be a bad idea to do boot slide I blew my left inner boot the 2nd time I wheeled mine after the lift .Still need to fix it ,spewing grease everywhere

Nope, mine is also scratched up, I picked a fight with a tree at raush and I won, but the truck lost

Also, it's been cut to fit a Mobtown recovery bar, so it will never be "stock" again. Speaking of which, one rusty recovery bar, removed and ready to be sent for powder.

I figured as much, wanted to be sure i wasnt seeing things. it looks like its a PITA to replace based on how much shit is around it, and seeing as i have no noticeable steering issues i think thats gonna go on the "if it aint broke dont fix it" list

And @Mobtown Offroad when is a good date/time to come drop that thing off? currently have off every Sunday and Monday, and will have this upcoming saturday off as well
