I will join you if Toyota does not provide me with an appropriate response to my failed transmission.

im new here and i dont have a taco but im going through a lot of issues with my current car, its been on going for two years actually. the one thing i learned through my whole process is that manufacturers have nothing but time. the ball is almost never in the consumers proverbial court unless there is a MAJOR safety defect. my problems have all been software/electrical issues. they will never just replace the problem parts unless they can replicate the issue or deem it to be defective/unsafe. without a lawyer you have almost zero power as a consumer.....(when there is no major safety/reliability concern..... remember, you dont make that call.....the manufacturer does)

my car has been in the shop a combined total of around 120 days in 2 years and 2 months of ownership. im going on almost a year since i started the lemon law process. i tried to work with the manufacturer first, at first it seemed as though we were getting somewhere with a solution, but eventually they just started to ignore progress and me. im sure their reasoning was that either they could fix the issues or that my issues werent severe enough to warrant a buy back. since starting the lemon law process with a lawyer ive been offered a maximum of 2k, ive lost way way more than that just from missing work and traveling back and forth from the dealer (i live about 40 miles away from the closest dealer). now im suing the manufacturer just so i can get out of this hell hole. i want nothing more and nothing less. my car value has tanked, so im way upside down. i tried once to get rid of it and upon having it appraised by a dealer for trade the windows and radio didnt work. imagine my surprise when they walk back in the office and hand me my keys and say that they dont want the car.......

unfortunately for the OP, his problems seem small...........at least to toyota, so i would be very surprised if they did anything like buying it back. however, i wish you luck and hope you can eventually get them fixed or get something that works as it should

this wont work, all it will do is make you look like an entitled brat. im not saying you are or your problems are insignificant. the people you talk to on social media have nothing to do with the manufacturer customer care. they are usually just "marketing people" and they will tell you to just contact toyota usa via email or phone. you cant force toyota to do anything, and they will never lose more than you. bad mouthing toyota (not saying you are doing this) and yelling from the mountain tops will not help your agenda. your best course of action is to give them time to fix your truck and if they dont then there are legal steps to take. what you need to do is see exactly what your states lemon law requirements are. once you figure that out, make sure you give toyota time to fix it according to state law, then if they dont then talk to them directly about lemon law-ing it. if they ignore you then and only then get a lawyer. whatever you do, do not mention lemon law or buy back until you have met your states requirements, dont mention it to the dealer either. trust me it wont help and could potentially make things worse.

A side note, through my lemon law process I found out that my car was literally one of the first cars made for the US market. It was built in the first week of production for my year model and was a first year model of the new redesign

So it's a 13? Isn't it out of manufactures base warranty?

No it's a 2015. Which was the first year for the redesign on the mqb chassis.

I guess we'll see. Toyota is big in data analysis and sentiment analysis. If they start getting blasted on twitter they will notice. I know they notice this forum.
