I'd be happy to assist you by taking that rear bumper off your hands...

I don't think he will have problems moving that bumper. Cover the costs of a homemade one easy

I know its going to be a lot of work, it takes me about three weeks to do any of the projects ive done (bed rack, skid plate) i see the bumper taking a lot more time...

Yeah, I'm not too picky about my truck's looks. I'd just hack the current bumper into something I like and call it a day. But yeah I bet he'd have extra after selling and building a new one with swingout.

In the long term, I'd like to have the compressor under the hood in the usual spot and have a tank under the bed. Then I want hook ups on both the front and rear bumper

I had my compressor under the hood of my 2nd gen. If you see muddy conditions at all, you will not be able to keep it from getting dirty. Maybe you're cool with that, maybe not. I didn't like it so I put it in the cab of the 1st gen. Something to consider at least.

Honestly the best way I've seen it set up on a first Gen. Since we don't have a lot of room anywhere

Hear it? That won't be a problem. You'll be outside the cab when airing up tires. Even if you are running air lockers it's just the initial bump to pressurize the line then it shuts off. Plus, I can assure you, you can hear it just as good under he hood as where I have it mounted.

Not trying to to sway you, this is just what I've noticed with mine.
