No im just kidding....but i was changing my oil today at work because we have a lift there and soon as i walked under the dam truck guess what i find.... oil all over the lower front half of the motor.... it wasnt like running out but its still an oil leak ( oil seep)... cant really decide where its coming from so i just wiped it all clean and was gonna watch it closer... now this would be alright with me... if say i had 200,000 miles on my truck... but wth... at 64,0000 miles i got an oil leak!. and i change my oil every 3000 and treat my truck like a baby. oh well... just wanted to vent a bit .

    Too few to list.
I remember reading a thread about premature oil leak from a gasket leaking, you might want to check more into it.

im pretty sure that its coming from a gasket.. i guess u could say or it looks like the truck has two oil pans kinda.. and its not the oil pan but the above that on the next gasket up... but its not really a gasket its like silicone or something think u can track down that thread again

I believe that the TSB only goes up to 07 so 08 and newer should not have the front timing cover leak. I have done a few of them now really not to bad to do its just FIPG but good idea to do the crank seal while your there.

I don't know about the Tacomas but I had a Corolla 1.8 that sprung a leak at the cam chain tensioner. Apparently it's a fairly common problem with those cars. It was a pretty simple fix.

timing cover gasket leak, like others have said, has a TSB. Take it to your dealer and they will reseal it for you.

I'm gonna check to see if mine has this problem tomorrow. Sounds pretty common.

its not the timing cover... its below that althoughs a lil bit has migrated up the front of the motor bu not far... im pretty sure.. i will try to take a pic maybe tonight and see if i can point out where i think its coming from... then see what you guys think and will they still do the tsb with 64,000? i didnt buy the extended warranty. dont kno much about the tsb warranty thing. i kno what all of them are just not the specifcations on when they will perform them and i dont kno if this matters but its the 2.7 not the v6 dont kno if you all figured that out or not?

I have a small leak from the crank seal. Why i don't know, I have an NST crank pully in there, but it didn't leak before. Weird thing is that it fits really snug.

I saw that yours is a 2.7 and from my reading of the tsb #0326-08 (linked above), that tsb is for some of the 4.0s and not the 2.7.

Mine is 2.7 as well and has this oil seep from top pass side of timing cover where it meets the bottom of the head. I know this tsb is for v6s but would like to know how many 2.7s are having this issue too. I happen to have drivetrain warranty until 100k or 2012 and it will be dealt with before then by Toyota for free. I have already pointed it out more than once and been blown off as "musta came from changing the filter" which is complete bullshit since I do my own, don't make any mess changing filter & have wiped this down every oil change up to bottom of head where it's coming from. It's not enough to drip...yet, but is gonna have to be done within my warranty period & I'm not doing it nor will I be paying for it to be done regardless of whether there is a TSB specific to 4 cyl 2.7s. Same shit with tailshaft seal leak on whatever tranny that is. If mine's doing it, they will fix it under my drivetrain warranty. Nothing has been altered drivetrainwise on my truck so there will be no denials. They've done rr axle seals & rr main seal already so expecting more shitty seal fails...:(:mad:
