Common in the auto industry. GM perfected it decades ago.

Yup. GM did it first. Toyota has mastered it though. On the interior anyways. It makes sense when they only sell 100k trucks a year total to use lots of common parts between them, especially when it comes to plastic knobs.

Does anyone have a TRD Sport with the light tan color headliner? Every Tacoma I have looked at comes with the Black Headliner which I find makes the cab feel cramped.
    Thanks!!

My mother and her family bought her house on the North Shore in the late 90s for about $800k and the houses all around consistently are selling for $2+ mil now. One across the street sold once to a Chinese group who got it about 5 years ago for $1.4 mil, sold it 6 months later for $1.75 mil, then came back and re-bought it for $2.2 mil 2 years ago and are tearing it down and re-selling we suspect for about $2.75+ mil. Regularly people will come to her door and offer to cash buy her house. Completely ridiculous market we are in for sure.

That's because what has been happening is people moving money into Canada will go through easy channels in Quebec to immigrate quicker then buy straight into BC as a Canadian Citizen. What this does is give Quebec a bunch of extra money then the home buyers in BC show up as Canadian citizens and not foreigners.

How's everyone's Canadian models holding up?

I keep reading all these negative threads about howling diffs, zerks that aren't greased, transmission problems etc but all are from US models?
Anyone with a canadian 2016 having these major issues?
I'm going to be ordering a 2017 soon and getting worried. Are these problems more so just happening to americans or are the Canadians fucked as well?

I waited for the 2017 figured problems would be worked out but some americans with 2017s are reporting the same issues as if toyota hasn't addressed anything?

BC is supposedly seeing a cooling in the market now with the 15% tax.

I'm in toronto and its insane here. I still live at home no way I'm leaving right now with the way houses are here. One house down the street from ours has a detached garage that has been deemed unsafe to enter by the city and the house is at the bottom of a driveway that slopes to the house. Basically the house and garage are a complete tear down as I saw the inside its a fuckin dump...somehow sold for $825K No clue how.

But ya houses are insane here and a lot of it is chinese money. Many chinese students that go to U of T don't live in dorms instead their parents buy them condos in the downtown core in all the rich neighborhoods, let them live there for 4 years then sell it. Its really unfair for anyone from the millennial generation to get into the housing market here. Its rather hard for someone in their 20s to buy a house thats selling 150-200K over asking, when the asking is already usually 800-900K

Yet dumbass trudeau doesn't want to put a federal tax on foreign buyers cause it might interfere with foreign relations, meanwhile millennials are struggling to buy houses in the major cities of Canada. This country's government cares way too much about its foreign relations and new citizens and not enough about the born and raised canadian citizens. My fathers been here since he was 3 and when him and my grandparents came here from italy they didn't get anything that the new immigrants are getting now. Its really getting terrible here. Mind you still much better off than America haha

I've got a manual transmission TRD Sport and the only common issues I've noticed on mine is bottle howling noise on the lower control arms in certain crosswinds and squeaky leaf springs (which seems to have gone away now at 5900km)

I can live with some bottle howling noise and a little squeaking as long as both are not mechanical problems.
My hearing is shit anyways and I usually have music on pretty loud, I might not even notice the noises lol.
My concern is mechanical issues like failing differentials and transmission problems. Stuff that we know toyota would love to turn around and blame any sort of modifications like a lift etc for instead of warrantying it.

My tranny was 3/4 liter low...rear end 1 cup low...all 5 zerks needed 5 to 8 pumps of grease...U bolts needed to be torqued...BSM system failed within 2 weeks of driving off the lot, I finally took it in and they don't have a Freakin' clue what's wrong... Other than those minor things, I love the truck... just got the TSB for tranny and have driven enough to tell you about it...

I'd still buy it again....(only cuz I like the truck and I can afford it).. If I had to borrow, I would NOT buy a $46,000 truck...

Ya I'm putting 25 down finance the rest which I can afford no problem. I'm just worried about vital components failing.

Bsm isn't offered in off road so doesn't matter. Just worried about diff problems. Small issue don't really worry me much it's things that would make the truck undrivable

Make sure they check the things I mentioned BEFORE U drive off the lot.... Cuz after you pay them...they don't give a shit man... My experience.

Good Luck and enjoy the new truck... What colour..??

Good luck and make sure they "Physically" check the tranny fluid... NOT just a computer scan thingy...it don't tell them if it's full..!

    Have fun.
