Oh it's not just 05's that are cracking there, my 06' is cracked and I have seen a lot of others too since I noticed it and started looking... Tailgate alignment / body gap issues seem to be prevalent too, most commonly a V on the drivers side.

    Here is mine :

Roger that. I guess Toyota tried. lol

Last week I learned of a 2010 that had reported spreading.

Mine could be damaged too, I've got tailgate seal all around the edges of the bed, and not going to pull that up to check. :D

All I did was check for straightness with a square.

Excuse the mess, just coming off a trip.

I guess I've been lucky.

Thanks, taking it in tomorrow and they said 3-5 days. It just depends if the head actually warped or not and how bad which dictates how many days the heads spend at the machine shop. Valve seats will be done too and I'm making a list of other items to hit while it's apart IE : replace all of the idler and tensioner pulleys and belt, new plugs, definitely check the water pump too. Trying to think of all the " might as well " maintenance items.

Be careful of those "might as well" things. I tore an engine down to replace the headgasket one time and the "might as well while I'm in here" snowballed into a complete rebuild.

Yeah, I saw those pics of yours. I had no idea it was a known issue on early 2nd gens.

I do like the additional tie down hard points the stiffeners provide for all the little crap at the rear of the bed...like yours!

It just occurred to me: you haven't been lucky. You've got six thousand ties down points and straps keeping your bed together. Duh.

Stopped off at Diaz Lake on the way home from Mammoth today to play with my Wife and Daughter at the Lake and the park that's at the lake. Got a couple cool shots. One with Mt. Whitney in the background.

This may be a stupid question but are all of the actual TRD beadlocks rings removable? I wasn't sure if they were just there for looks or they if they were removable. Thanks.

they are not beadlocks, they are just removesble rock rings. great feature to have if you love running rocky trails...keeps your actual rim from getting banged up.

For those of you running ARB fridges, I'm looking for a way to non-permanently mount mine in my bed. Ideally the tie down point(s) would be low profile so when the fridge is not in the bed it wouldn't obstruct sliding things in and out of the bed. Also, I have a bed mat which could complicate things. Also I have been using regular ratchet straps but there has to be a better product or method for that too I would guess. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if you like this idea, but I was planning on running a couple rows of angled L track down the bed and then cut a platform out of wood or plastic that would bolt into the L track to act as a base. Then bolt all of my accessories like a fridge, more tie down points, etc. That way I don't have a bunch of random holes in my bed.

Probably about as low profile as you're going to get without trying to use recessed tie downs.

Better to ask what I have not done.
Like mentioned above. L tracks. They are strong and modular for other things. Im going to be doing that around the rack and bed here soon.
