We're actually staying at the Whitetail Inn in Lincoln, ME. We're only there for two nights, driving up Monday and back Wednesday. We might look into a detour on the way back, not sure yet.

That's cool. We stayed at the prison; I mean at the Katahdin Inn in Millinocket

Looks like a prison from the outside though

We only made it to the trains. It was getting late in the day by the time we got in.

We didnt want to go home and took it easy all day. Sounded like a good plan until about 11pm and we were still in Maine with 3 hours to go. Id like to go back up there. There are a few other places to hike to that would be fun. Id like to hike Katadhin but i would probably keel over half way up.

Alright guys this is a push to gauge interest on a trip down to RI in a remote area to do some dirt activities with our trucks. I did this trip with full armor and stock suspension, however with that said the OEM skid would do with some scrapage if you take it slow as verified by other members. There is a rocky hill that is optional that I suggest skids for, I had issues on my stock suspension but overall I made it up it but it might have also been my line that I took. There will be pin-striping plants so if you're wary of your paint this likely isn't the right trip for you. Depending on the weather and the rainfall there are some pretty muddy spots and some water crossing options with the ability to skirt around it.

Tentative date is September 25th 2016 (Sunday)
Time would be 9am meeting at a public spot to head to the trail, where we'll probably air down when we get there since its a fairly long drive from the nearest public meeting place that won't attract too much attention.

Time wise I'd say 4-6 hours depending on the group size.

@DoubleRGirl can chime in since she was with me when we explored this past weekend. Too bad I didn't bring my camera it was perfect for some shots. Below is a link to some of our cellphone shots from that day. There were a few more trails we didn't explore that I might head down the weekend before to see what's there but lots of potential plus there was a split road section and riding side by side (10-15ft apart) for a few miles up and down the hills was awesome.

Well except for the rocky hill you would be very bored. You can always do that hill 10 times. Lol

Every time I go there I stare at the trails under the distant power lines and think--"There's got to be more entertaining stuff in here"

I don't think you'd have to use 4wd at all there. You could easily 2 low/locked up everything there.

I've been all around there for work. We did the design of all those lines for a massive reliability upgrade project. There's not anything more interesting than what you've seen.

Yea I just like wheelin as long as there are some rocks, some bumps and a chance to get dirty... we didn't stay on the path with the powerlines - we veered off and found a road parallel to them that was fun at times. Remember I'm also new to this so going over a 12" log is fun for me.
