Where at? Somebody with a winch should be able to help, especially with a good variety of recovery gear. Might not pretty getting it back on its wheels and good to have a second recovery vehicle to keep from letting the truck roll again once it starts getting pulled back to driveable.

Thinking about doing the stampede pass run Sunday for my bday. Anyone been up there reciently?

 

Was up there a few weekends ago. Mostly just passing through looking for a spot to shoot.

 

How far back did you get up? Or did you do the whole run? It's been about 5 years since I was up there

 

We went from stampede to greenwater stopping along to way to plink a bit. I'd be tire to guess it could be a shit show up there this weekend with archery deer opening last weekend and I think, I could be wrong, archery elk opens up also.

 

as long as it's not modern. Not too worried about a stray arrow. It's the stray 30-06 shot from a mile I worry about.

 

I was thinking more so traffic wise, not the stray arrows.

I have the time off requested already. Might as well make the best of it.

 

I can't remember who suggested this for me when I asked awhile back... But, is there anything else I should purchase with it to get the best range/performance possible. I don't want to put any holes, or take anything apart in my truck (at least, not until lease is up. so a few years staying as much stock as possible)...

Need an antenna, the one that comes with it is useless. I had one of those but the mic went out and then you have to replace the whole thing, so I just got a hard mount unit

Don't want to put holes in my truck. Also, want to be able to use in either my Taco or my T4R without having to purchase separate radios for each. Any other portable CB's that may be better that you would suggest?

 

run antenna cable through the firewall and mount antenna on a hood bracket?

or antenna cable through firewall and then under the truck to a bed location or roof?

 

Portable CB don't have the range. You can set up an antenna on both rigs and just move the CB into the one your using. With that ducky antenna you might as well use walkie talkies. I'm running a hood bracket that allows me to mount an antenna using factory bolts. It's not the best place for one like the roof but it works.
