Wondering about disconnecting my sway bar on my 2015 Tacoma when offroading. The sway bar links are easy enough to disconnect/remove. Seems like the sway bar itself pivots downward and is just dangling there in the way. Do you remove the sway bar completely? You can't really secure it upward, wouldn't end up in the front coils when turning? I realize I will get no additional drop but I'm after IFS when I'm out there.

A lot of us run completely without them. Get slight more body roll on road but you'll get used to it.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Just take it off. Tacomas are an all or nothing and I haven't missed mine for over half the odometer's mileage.

The TRD-OR already has a smaller sway bar. And you're right that you can't just dangle it there as it'll wreak havoc.

For a daily driver I'd keep it on.

If you have the OR model, just hit the ATRAC button and go. No worries if you get a wheel in the air!

If you have stiffer and/or compressed coils I would just remove the dang thing. I was skeptical of taking mine off but I'm glad I did.

This, been running without mine for 30k miles on stock coils at 1.75in setting on 5100's. Love the ride, its better on and off road, not as jaring over bumps and i get more flex. Cant be any less stable than my older truck.

Disconnecting your sway bar is a proven method for getting more off road articulation. Wranglers can even do it at the push of a button on the dash when in 4low. However, it should be noted that completely removing the swayer will adversely affect the vehicles stability in high speed maneuvers. Stiffer coils can help mitigate the roll that was countered by the swaybar.

Take it off! After 10 minutes of driving without it you'll be trying to lift a tire around every turn. Might as well get the most out of IFS

I've been on the fence with this since my lift. It's still my DD, that's the only reason for keeping it on. Worst comes to worst you could always put it back on.

I took it off my DD a few weeks ago. The difference is barely noticeable, even during the "moose test". I have 620# eibach coils and a bit of extra weight from bumpers and skids. It definitely feels better off road.

My Taco is my DD and only 4 wheel vehicle. I was on the fence about it for a while before I finally removed it. My only regret is not removing it sooner!

Like you said, you can always put it back on. But I think once you take it off it will only collect dust in the garage haha

Thanks for everyone's input on removing sway bar. I have heavier coils for weight of the O R bumper winch and steel skids. It's coming off. Got try it to see the difference.
