Ya...not many roads in that unit, they get pounded pretty hard. It's so hard to draw a tag for rifle hunting that many people that shouldn't be archery hunting are anyway.

Hell if you make my entire driveway (1/4+ mile long) an offroad course that I can make money off of, I might even give you a tip.
But in all seriousness, what I am trying to get done is stupid easy. A 20 foot culvert pipe with a 14' wide, 12' long, 3' deep fill of the already cleared county ditch. Clearing the driveway with equipment will happen next year. I just want somewhere to park overnight that isn't on the road or cause me to get a fine for damaging the county maintained ditch when I drive through it (already got a warning).
I know an old timer that will let me do the work under his license as long as I do it to code and he will inspect when I get the first couple compactions done.
First guy gave me a rough quote of 1300-1800, but when I went out there to meet him at the time we agreed to meet, he was a no show and hasn't answered my calls since.

 

I did some dispersed camping out near Lyda Camp in TSF for memorial day weekend. I really lucked out on the weather.
Sunday my friend and I did some mountain biking that would make @mutilatedjak a bit proud. We went from Foothill trailhead to the Forest Center, checked out the place, ate lunch, then rode back. My shoulders are still feeling it. I talked to an older volunteer guy at the forestry center and I guess he's really trying to get some momentum on having a map company come out and map up all of the Trask area. He was stating how it's ridiculous that there isn't a current map for not only forest service use or recreation, but nothing current for emergency response or fire safety - especially when we are having this conversation over a display of the Tillamook burn, which covered over 224k square miles.

I also went down the Trask River Road to check out what these southern part of the forest looked like. It reminded me how small of an area we really explore in what we think of TSF.

 

Approved. You'll be better off to wait till I get the sensors and sticks installed.

Anybody have a rough estimate of what it would take to fix up a finger-length scratch on a front fender? Looks to be the width of a pencil lead (or a plastic coffee stick for you young hipsters who haven't used wooden pencils )
I found a good deal on the fender I need, and this looks to be the only issue.
Do they have to paint the entire thing or just the one bit?

 

How deep is it? My truck had some pretty bad pinstriping that almost disappeared with polishing compound and wax.

How picky do you want the repair? And how deep the scratch is will make a difference. For lighter scratches Ive found wax and/or NuFinish work decently well. For deeper if you dont care to much Id just pick up some of the touch up paint from auto zone and paint it and then wax it.

But im cheap and dont care about the scratches

The rut is just starting on this side of the state, it's been 27F the last two nights so it will be in full swing soon. I've seen more deer than I have in many years though! Heading out tomorrow and staying in the woods for the rest of the season. I hope I at least get a cow this year, tag sammich sucks!
