Unfortunatly the wii doesn't put out an HD signal.

480P is the resolution of the Wii

    480P is DVD resolution

the streaming should be faster with no HD sized datastream

480p is the Wii's Max resolution (Only with a component cable)
Streaming will be the same speed as any other Netflix device on your home network. The limitation is your ISP.

    I'm liking my Roku box.

Have you watched Netflicks streaming? It looks good, but I doubt you will tell a difference between 480p and 720p... I have it on my PS3, and my Dad has it on the Roku.. They look the same to me.. and I used to be an ISF nerd..

Netflicks needs better quality material, and to be more consistant before you concern yourself with the output res on the source box.. One Man's Opinion.. wither way, it's a good move for Nintendo!

Yes, I use it all the time. You only get access to the HD content if you have an HD capable Netflix device registered. PS3 and Roku are both HD. The HD content would look the same on either if your broadband connections are similar. Wii's registered on Netflix won't have access to any HD content, because they don't output HD. Wii's will only stream the SD content in 480i / 480p.

Oh, now that is way different.. the HD content stuff looks WAY better than non. If my Wii would not have access to the HD content, there is no reason to utilize it (on the big screen) in my opinion. I forgot about the little "HD" identifier box in regards to selection on Netflicks.

We have the PS3 also and the streaming is pretty good (and we use it wireless). The only weakness is the browser and the selection.
    That should change...

I'm sure the other consoles have the same browser content and same selections.

I'll take the blue-ray discs & the physical DVD's long before streaming.
