Well seriously, who among us (if we were selling new trucks) would turn away people walking up willing to pay over MSRP?

Go tell your wife "sorry honey, I know you wanted to go on vacation, but I didn't want to take the extra $3000 this guy was offering me and I just sold it to him at list price" and let me know how it works out for ya... :D

Where are these dealers who sell for $4,000-5,000 under M.S.R.P.?

I'm not ashamed to name dealers....Fox Toyota In East Tennessee is a non-discount dealer...I've never been able to buy from them, I want a discount....Not to mention the service dept. has a "they all do that" mentality.

As far as you know...just sayin'

What dealer did you get that from? Which model/package did you order?

I'm in the bay area and haven't had much luck. I've been considering going out of state like OP and others on this board have done.

And Stevens Creek. I prefer the latter, but would have done business with either.

No on stevens creek. they were the ones that wouldn't move from MSRP when I bought my truck in January. They also tried to sell me a demo with 3K miles for a few hundred off. Lol.

Goldsboro Toyota was wh both mine come from.
They offered me 5k under but I ended up not getting the TRD because they did not put the lockers in for the longbeds I wanted.
    Went with a SR5 v6 4x4 4d LB and it was about 4400 under.
If I remember the 2011 was 3900 to 4100 under.

but that said there were several they priced me 4k to 5 k under.

Bummer man. They beat Sunnyvale for me (as well as a series of other dealers), and I got $700 under msrp. By far the best I dealt with.

And you drive it off the lot and lose another $5k in value...better get that gap coverage...

Glad I got my '13 this year. There were a billion to choose from and they were basically begging me to take it.

Check out Costco Auto Buying Program. I am certain price varies by region- but dealers can not change it.

Plug in your contact info, and a person from the dealer calls you to make an appointment. They are obligated to show you the Costco price when you pick a vehicle. They also usually have a sales manager/ top sales person/internet manager work with you.

I'll second this. I couldn't get my configuration through them but I would have gone this route if I could have.

In Atlanta last week I beat Costco pricing by $1100 using conventional methods.

Do give it a shot, but follow a "trust, but verify" methodology.

Agreed- completely. Many are not aware of the Costco deal though.

I bought mine in Charlotte. As a San Diego native- I know what the CA market is like too. What happens here in ATL- CLT has nothing to do with the CA market.

I went to three different dealers here in Socal, two in LA county one in San Bernardino county. Two of the dealers were flexible on price paying okay amount below MSRP, the one that demanded MSRP didn't even know anything about the truck and was reading straight off an app. He obviously just wanted max commission and had no sales skills.

My truck was built in Baja yesterday. Delivery next week. Manhattan Beach Toyota (so cal). They are the local Costo dealer. $2,200 below MSRP. It took 3 months before I got to the top of the list. Deposit placed on May 30. I shopped my price at 10 different dealers and non could come within $1,500 of my price. I probably could have gone out of state for similar deal but felt it was too much hassle.. Looks like Costco is best So Cal price if you are willing to wait for an order.
