Yup, totally fine for a bone stock truck. Just watch the rocks on the freshly graded sections of the roads. The first one I was able to plug, might have been a nail on one of the bridges, the second one was unavoidable and required the spare.

Yup. There was a lot more almost bushwhacking than I thought that there would be. Nice trip though. Pictures coming soon.

One of the pictures in the dealership website. Shows a chrome bumper with a white sticker that has a barcode and a part number.

If I'm lucky, in the summer I can get almost 21 mpg's with 33's, minimal idling and hypermiling...usually in winter it drops to 18 or 17 lowest, fully loaded with tools, lumber and snow. This winter will probably be a bit lower cause I switched to heavy duty gear oil..

That is odd. There's one on both the front and the rear bumper.

We all aired down to 25 for majority of the dirt roads and didn't air back up until the next morning.

    Morning all...

My past pickup rides: 82 K10 (305 3spd)' 82 Ranger (v6 4spd), 96 Ram Cummins (auto), 13 Tacoma - Current ride. I'd still have the Cummins if it were a stick...

    Morning all!

One on the rear window, too, in the pictures.
I'm guessing they're transport ID numbers/tags or something of that nature, because it was without stickers or grease pencil marks when I looked at it on Monday.

How was the test drive of the other Tacoma last night? Same buzzy feeling?

Gotta love crushed shale roads, lol.

Drove a TRD OR last night. Same feeling of 'feeling' the driveline. I still can't put my finger on whether it's the transmission, engine, driveline, etc but it's definitely there. I don't know if it's not enough soundproofing or if it's something to do with the body mounts or what. :notsure:
And I noticed this one whistling when I took it on the highway. It was breezy and whenever it'd gust there was a whistling/moaning noise from the passenger side. Salesman told me it's normal, lol.

I'm disappointed. I really want to like the G3 Tacomas. They look badass and I like the Toyota rep for reliability. But there's just something...they almost feel cheap. I know they're not cheap ($35k is no joke, lol), but the two I've driven have felt that way somehow.

I haven't had any major concerns with mine so far. Ever since I took the air dam off mine I have a howling at ~45MPH. I will have them plug the control arms with the TSB and most likely have the trans TSB done either at the 15k or 20k service. This is my first Tacoma so I don't really have a barometer to previous ones.

Can you feel your driveline when you're driving it? I'm baffled; I don't have this problem with my '10 and didn't with the '99 either. Reminds me of my '96 Jeep Cherokee, almost. You could feel the engine/transmission working in the floorboards on that thing.

Kinda sounds like they are just using different durometer rubber in either the motor/trans or body mounts to compensate for the change in the drivetrain.

Definitely a possibility. They changed a lot of other stuff, makes sense they'd have changed that too. Maybe my butt-dyno (or butt-NVH sensor, in this case) is just being too sensitive. But if I'm dropping $35k on something, I want to be completely satisfied with it, you know?
    Bah.

Not like it really matters anyway, if I can't get what I want for pricing/trade I'm not going to jump on it anyway, and the guy at Lee was just as stubborn as the guy at Emerson about his pricing.
Damn Tacomas are just too popular. Nobody wants to haggle because they're not sitting on the lots.

    You shut your whore mouth!
I feel dirty enough as it is for test-driving/considering one.
And especially for thinking that it felt better put-together than the Tacoma.

I can feel it when im braking slowly, if that makes sense. If I come to a quick stop, I don't feel anything. But if I am in traffic, I can feel it. It's a little weird cause the auto trans "feels" like someone is driving stick that doesn't know how to drive stick when I'm in 0-15MPH stop and go traffic. But, I'm not sure if that's because I haven't had the trans updated yet.
