Four dogs? Sheesh, my wife squealed when I brought home a second pup. After 11 years she's fine with two, but she told me, no way we'd have three.

We rescued a second (Kiki, right) to help keep our first (Lucy, left) entertained, and we're glad we did. They get far more exercise playing with each other, especially when we're out and about. We took our time getting the second, making sure the personalities fit. They also peer-model each other. Lucy has calmed down a lot because Kiki doesn't lose her mind when FedEx drives by. Kiki also is friendly to strangers, something Lucy still struggles with (she's not called "murder dog" for nothing).

Now they share beds, bowls, and laps (though they tend to overheat people quickly, little fur-furnaces). Kiki, the small one, was hair and bones when we got her. Had to shave her down just to get the mats out.

The hooligans, waiting on a treat:
    upload_2016-9-7_14-41-22.jpg

Kiki has put on another pound and a half since May, and we can't feel her spine anymore. She runs fast, eats a lot (for a 10 lb dog), and will happily attack any stuffed animal that hits the floor.

They're also invisible at night, but we keep their collars and tags on them so they jingle and we know where they are.

I got 6 dogs, all rescues.

Might have a 7th dog as a buddy is in a rough spot and I don't want his fur-friend to go to the pound.

    Still easier than 1 kid.

Better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission.
Get the second dog. You won't regret it. Eases some of the pain when it's time for the older one to cross the rainbow bridge. It did for me, anyway. A little bit.

This is my Pepper girl. 15 years old and still active. We got her in 2001 and have been attached at the hip ever since. She loves swimming, going for walks and riding in the back of the truck

Ha! I'm on a shuttle to the Denver game right now with a bus full of Von Miller jerseys, so they would probably agree with that.
