LOL! I'm just sipping on room temperature water. In between bathroom visits I'm watching Narcos. Now I see why older Landcruisers are so hard to find, they bought'em all for this television series.

Hey Guys...I live in Southern Maryland down by Pax, can anyone recommend a shade tree mechanic that could replace my spark plugs? I bought the plugs and planned on doing it myself than I jacked up my back. I can barely stand for more than 10 minutes without sitting down. The local dealer wants an outrageous price to do it. Barring that how long can I go on plugs? I've got about 36k on them now and the truck runs fine but I don't like to let maintenance things go.

unless you're crushing the throttle everywhere you go, and neglecting your air filter, you'll be alright to keep driving. I'd love to help. but will be out of town for two weeks, starting tomorrow evening.

if you are goot waiting for 3 weeks to a month, I'd be happy to help. my wife is usually up in DC for work on wednesdays and Thursdays, so I typically have plenty of free time in the evenings on those days. it's only about a half hour job.

I cought you out of the corner of my eye, but it wasn't enough to get a description like what you got. also saw a Tacoma on 7, closer to Vienna with a cap and RTT that looked pretty good. as many years as I've lived in the area, I'm always surprised to see nicely built trucks driving around. not nearly as common as when I lived florida and texas

I was half tempted to turn around and chase you down haha. Just for a thumbs up. But i needed to ship out some bed bars, before my manager friend left, and get the buyer a tracking number.

So it happened yesterday, I found a '16 with a stick and a price I liked. Got all three kids in the back for the ride home. So if you see a guy still figuring out what the buttons do driving around the city, don't honk and wake the 2 year old.

@colinb17 , I was looking at your build, did you re-gear for your 35s?

have you experienced problems not regearing and what did you cut to jam those in there. fenders? bodymount? Are you still running SPC UCAs, and are the wheel spacers a must? I'll need new tires in a couple months and want 35s. just trying to work out what it will take. also depends if I can jam 315/75/16s on my rims. my rims have 7.5 width and the 315s have an 8-10 range but I see other 7.5 trd wheels with 315s on them.

are you on stock TRD 16''s? if so, that's a 7.0'' wide wheel, not 7.5''.

either way, the 315s have been great on my 7.5'' stock sport wheels. still running SPC UCAs and spidertrax wheels spacers. the spacers are the percect balance or wide enough to clear the UCA and LCA, but not so wide that it gives you firewall/fenderwell/body mount problems. however, there is still a lot of clearancing on all areas.

my cab mount is extremely trimmed. your average cab mount chop won't cut it. you need to cut all of the way back to the body mount itself. I hammered the fenderwell/firewall A LOT. and cut 2'' off of my fenders, after removing the flares. I still get a little rub here and there, but it's nothing that I need to worry about.

as far as not regearing: no, I have not experienced and problems, but yes, I have certainly experienced changes. fast truck becomes slow truck. powerful truck is still powerful, but need to be a gear lower. cruise control is not something you are able to use anymore (if you even use it at all now).

I've had the 35s on stock gears for three years. in that time, I've towed a 6000 lb boat countless times, my much smaller and lighter trailer more than that, hauled plenty, driven up very steep, long, mountain roads, and wheel a lot. the truck does just fine and is capable, but you will spend a lot more time in 4th geat on the highway, and hold gears longer/rev higher when accelerating. the truck WILL drive very differently, but if you drive like an old man like me, it doesn't make a difference, because you still have plenty of power when you need it, as long as you pop it down a gear or two. the 4.0 is a durable, well made motor, and can handle higher revs just fine. on the other hand, when I get up to speed on a flat highway, I can cruise at 70-75 MPH, at under 2000 rpm. that is the one time I do get better mileage than normal.
