no way would I pay the MSRP 49K price that he did, but for under 40k, I'd probably be talked into something like that lol

Is it always the assumption that engineers 1 year out of college make a lot of money? Lol. One day I hope to, but for now...I'm still low on the totem pole.

A simple version of this would work for me.

Do you have a long or short bed? I have an almost brand new All pro rack I might be thinking of selling. Thinking of switching to a shell.

I sent him a picture of it, of course @O906 could probably offer you a better price but I'll let you know.

It's all over my build thread and it's a standard allpro expo rack cab height for a long bed. Let me know if you're interested.

so does it have full length mounting that goes into the bed rails? or is it just a couple of spots bolted to the bed rails? and does it eliminate total usage of the existing truck bed rails? sorry for questions, matt is asking so he knows kinda how it's supposed to be built.

Yes is mounts via the entire bed rails and yes it does make the rails useless. But It needs the full length of the rails for strength.

Gotcha, wonder if it could be fab'd up somehow to maybe allow use of the bedrails or like provide more railing on the inside of the rack? maybe that makes sense haha.

Edit, like if the rack had it's own bed rails on it's inside to replace the ones it is using for strength?

I was going to buy some used rails and mount them to the bed rack but like I said I'm thinking about going with a shell instead of the rack.

Rack is a great system and is sturdy as hell but I think for what I want my truck for I'd get more use out of an enclosed shell.
