265/70/17 with 1.5 to 2in lift pics please

I apologize if there is a thread specific to this setup already. I am really trying to decide on what setup to run. I'm looking to do 5100s set at 1.75 with either 265/70/17 or 275/70/17. I was hoping to get some good pictures of the 265s with close to that amount of lift.

I just installed 6112/5160 combo on my 16 TRDOR DC this past weekend. YotaDan was very helpful in this process- thank-you very much!

Very nice riding combination. I would put them a definite BIG notch above stock. Not jarring, very capable on and off road. I took it out on a nasty piece of road up in the forest above my house and pushed through some serious whoops, mud holes, ruts etc- I'm pretty impressed. Road manners are spot on terrific as well.

I went on the mild side- 6112's set on notch 3 and a 1/4" spacer on the drivers side. Nice even measurements, basically gained 1.5" in the front (as advertised). I ran the Wheeler's prog 3 leaf add a leaf in the rear and gained 2" lift back there ( I removed the factory overload). I suspect it will settle to about 1.5" rear lift as well. Stock UCA's and I got it aligned yesterday and it all came into spec just fine.

I run 265/70/17 Cooper ST/Maxx (E Load) tires on TRD Pro wheels, and I'm going to stay right at this size for the foreseeable future. What is interesting that this tire ran pretty harsh on the stock shocks- you could definitely tell it was an E rated tire. It's now virtually unnoticeable with the 6112/5160 combo. That was a pleasant surprise.

Looks good with the 1.5 in of lift. Looks like a capable setup also.

 

I'm really leaning towards the 265 c load range instead of the 275 mainly because of the weight. Plus my truck isn't gonna see alot of offroad.

What did you use in the rear. Looks good.

 

Dakar leafs. It kept the factory 1 inch rake.

 

How'd you manage 2" with Dakars? I thought they were 2.75" stock, remove a leaf to drop it to 2.5"?

 

I got 2 inches in the front and 3 in the back which kept the factory rake.

If I was to go with 275/70/17s does anyone know if I'd be able to run that size for a short time on the truck with stock suspension till I got a lift on it.

 

It would rub like hell. Wouldn't do it.

 

Some people have them with little issue, others I've read have had rubbing problems. A lot depends on the tire itself- they are not all equal in size contrary to the metric designation.

For example a Cooper ST/Maxx is as follows:

265/70/17- 31.85" diameter, 10.7" width
275/70/17- 32.17"/11.0"

KO2
265/70/17- 31.6"/10.7"
275/70/17-32.2"/11"

So a 275 Cooper may fit a wee bit better than a KO2, but Cooper 265 is taller than a K02 265 tire...

It's all gonna depend on your specific application man...

My reasoning for NOT going with a 275 is that I really don't need that extra .32" of diameter for off-road use, I know the 265 can take a full off road pounding and not rub, and I don't want to be stuck out in Eastern Montana where I know NO ONE is going to stock a 275 size tire because it is really not a common size.

The 275, to me, is simply a recipe for bad luck.
