    We have a smart tv now that has a bunch of apps. Looking into Roku it seems it just streams apps (which our tv will do). I'll check out the PlayStation one. Worst case scenarios we will stick with just the smart tv and it's streaming apps.

    I haven't paid for cable since about 2007.....you get used to it and there really isn't anything on that important to me anyway. I get all I could ever watch from streaming Netflix and/or Amazon Prime videos. Got an apple TV and my smart TV and that is all I need. Not counting the cost of Prime or hardware and not sure what the going rate of cable is (lets estimate about $120/month less $40/month for internet = $80) $80/month for 9 years puts $8,640 back in my pocket :)

    my parents have a Roku but I have no experience with them.

    oh and with a digital antenna that cost me about $7 I am able to get all the local channels and news and most in HD

    I just called frontier. We had signed a 2 year contract 2 years ago that expires on the 20th of this month. I was paying 135$ for 2 cable boxes, with sports package and 50/50 Internet. For some reason after the 20th when my contract expires my bill would go up to 190$ ( I guess for being a loyal customer lmao). Changed the plan to only 50/50 Internet and it went down to 45$ a month. We watch a lot of out stuff on Hulu and Netflix now and I'm hoping the adjustment isn't too bad. I'll go get a digital antenna and see how that works. PlayStation vue, from the quick glimpse I took is about 30$ a month for a bunch of channels. We're going to hold off on anything but the antenna and see how we like it.
