So part of the problem, which you can read about if you take that thread back a few pages, is good ole Ben hasn't been on TW for a while. So I don't know if you'll hear from him.

From what I remember, theres one metal piece that needs fab'ed. Other than that I think we need to get some cable, switch, electrical stuff, and I'm not sure what else. When I have some time in the next few days I'll see if I can dig it out of the thread. But I don't know of a faster way than reading and clicking page by page.

But when I can I'll let you all know what I find, unless someone else has more time before me.

I just reach back and open it. :notsure:
like once or twice in the 17 years I've owned it. I hate shit from the back flying in the front, but that's just me. I see it as an emergency escape hatch. Leads right to the enclosed bed that's locked from the outside.

That sounds right for the part. And that's good! Last I saw he hadn't been on for months. Hopefully he gets back to you!

Yeah, hashtag doublecabprobs I suppose. I can't reach it from the drivers seat, and when I think to open it I'm rarely stopped and outside of the truck.

Will my 700 pound coils on my icons be overkill if I switch to an aluminum front bumper?

I didn't say anything about 18' or FireStik in my post? :notsure: Unless you're talking about the post on the subject I made five months ago. I have done other reading, and am well aware of the whole "18' myth" since about half the stuff you find if you search mentions it/argues both sides. It's kind of a moot point, since unless you make your own or pick up a radio shop 'custom' cable, odds are you're going to end up with 18' anyway. That, 9 and 12 are the most common lengths sold at non-radio specific places. I also noted in that earlier post that you should take everything on the Firestik site with a grain of salt, but that I mostly recommend it as a starting point since they've got so much information (good or bad) in one place. If you have a suggestion for another site or even two or three that covers even half the topics there with more accurate info I'd love to know about it.

My truck came with a service/maintenance schedule, and there's a pdf of it posted somewhere if you didn't get one. I just go down the list and do what I can (thefatkid pretty much listed it all already), then take it to the dealer for 'inspection'. Usually runs me $25-50 up here. 'Hardest' or 'most complicated' thing is the spark plugs, followed by the diffs/tcase. Which is to say not really hard at all. There's detailed write-ups on both I saved copies of and follow when I do it. Big chunk of dealer cost is probably consumables, so if you do it yourself or want a particular oil/gear oil that can drive the cost up. I get everything but those at the dealer anyway. I mostly take it in to have a professional look at it since they're going to spot anything wrong that I might not. One thing to be aware of is just because it's on the schedule doesn't mean they necessarily do it, so asking what's included is a good idea. I ran into that a little while back with my 60k, where checking the transmission fluid is on the checklist but apparently nobody does it/it's not necessary (on an auto).

    Maybe you're too young?
