Putting stock overload leaf back in

Recently, I purchased and installed a camper shell and immediately saw my icon progressive 3leaf aal squat somewhat.

I am most likely going to put back in the stock overload leaf which was removed during aal install.

Where exactly does the overload leaf go in my aal leaf pack?

 

The very bottom. Goes between the axle housing and the rest of the leaves.

Something to remember. Your leaf alignment bolts may be a bit short. The bolt that goes up the center of them to align them to the center of the leaf seat. Depends how much of the bolt was cut off during the install of the new springs. Might be worth just buying new bolts just in case. They shouldnt cost much.


Oh yeah, and make sure you have enough threads on the u bolts.

Im thinking about doing the same just to get the extra half inch. I have the same icons in the back.

I discovered with my 2015 Offroad that a 200 lb canopy (always on) very nearly bottomed out my springs on the overloads. So I took the overload leaf out and substituted a 3 leaf aal. Gave me 1-1/2 in more height plus a much forgiving ride. If I were planning to carry heavy loads I'd try to find a combination that included an overload leaf but providing more leaway before hitting bottom.

 

I have 3leaf aal but in my case it made me lose some of the lift I gain by installing it.
