hey guys, having gone through the hundreds of threads on the OME 885 lifts/shocks/etc a few years ago when instilling my current lift (885/bilsteins), I thought I had learneded everything there was to learn. and so the lift went on, yada yada yada, 285s, weekend wheeler, yada yada, plasti dip, yada yada...brings me to today:

Just bought new UCAs, finally, and want to go up in height. Never measured what I got from the 885s/Billys originally, but it definitely wasn't close to 3". Now, I have the 1/2" (as in they physically measure 1/2") spacers from OME, so my thought was go with a 1/2" spacer on the drivers side, and a 1/4" spacer on the passenger side (for 1" and 1/2" of lift, respectively). That way I'd get some more height, plus keep my taco lean negated. Firstly, is this safe? Don't see why not...? Thoughts? Also, does my math add up? According to OME, the 885x coils plus 1/2" spacers (for 1" of lift) should get me to my 3"...does that make sense? The 885x coils only should get me 2" alone?

Fwiw, I have an 07' AC 4x4 with sliders and an aluminum front bumper. Thanks for any input guys!

885 lifts the same amount as 5100s with stock coils set at 1.75" setting. For my access cab, that was right about at 2.5" of actual lift.

5100s at 1.75" gave you 2.5" of lift? Are you a 4x4? That seems like a way lot to me...

Access Cab 4x4. My skids and bolt on sliders brought it down a little. It was actually stiffer than my 885s are too. When I put my winch up front, it drops my 885s noticeably more than it did my preloaded stock coils. I have 1/4" spacers with my 885s and I'm very happy. If I had a bumper, I'd do 1/2" spacers - or if I was keeping my winch up front all the time.

I'm leaving on a week long trip this morning, but here's some light reading to give you an idea where some of my thoughts are coming from. Check out my build thread (below my sig) too.

Half and quarter inch top plate spacers shouldn't be an issue.

But sorry for my stupidity, what's you question again?

Lol. Just wanted to know if my maths right, and if it's accurate that I should need the 1/2" (1" lift) spacers to get to 3"

To answer your OP, everything you said is correct and accurate. You've got it all done properly. Some people do 1/2" spacers on both sides AND the 1/4" drivers side lean, but yours will work just fine too.

Thank you. Would consider that option too but stacking spacers sounds a little hairy to me
